Chapter 7

The director shouted out both Freen's and Becky's names, so they could go and pose for the promo and film posters. When the girls heard their names, they both searched for each other's eyes and took a deep breath nervously when they finally met their gazes. Hailee rushed to her best friend and tried to encourage her while walking by her side.
"Hey, Freen! Are you nervous?" Hailee asked her friend.
"Don't ask. I have smoked 5 cigarettes so far. I hope I don't smell like a chimney." Freen said while walking.
"It's ok... you will only get to hug and stuff like this. You are a future lawyer, yet you almost faint because you will hug a girl." Hailee encouraged her friend.
"Ok! Here we are. Wish me luck!" Freen said stopping behind a cameraman.
"Ok, Jonas! I'm right here.. If it helps, imagine that it is me, instead of the cameraman. Or... imagine that I pose with you, instead of Becky!" Hailee winked at Freen, smirking, and her friend nodded.
"Ok, girls! First pose: you need to stick your backsides while looking at me." The photographer directed them.
When the girls stuck their backs to one another, they both closed their eyes and felt the warmth of each other's presence. They had to slowly turn their heads to the camera. Freen received an indication to smile big, and Hailee kept making her laugh. The next pose was a picture with the mics in their hands, with Freen behind Becky, smiling and pretending to sing something. There were a lot of pictures taken and their moves were filmed. The last pictures taken were the ones that made them extremely nervous: In one picture, they had to stare at each other, while singing, which was the first picture where they had eye contact. Another picture was with them hugging while looking at the camera and then at each other.
For the last picture, the staff brought two chairs and two guitars. The girls had to stay next to each other, while pretending to play guitar, and stare into each other's eyes. It was a quick pose, but it was enough to make both of them feel something that they never felt before, and their smiles came naturally.
After they finished posing: group pictures and solo pictures, they had to offer an interview to a tv program. They first asked Freen and Becky, and then they asked the others.
"Hello, everyone! I am Mario and today we stopped a little bit at the photo-shooting for "Camp Rock Stars - the movie". We have here Miss. Becky Swift, who you already know by being Taylor's daughter, and next to her is Miss Freen Jonas. So, could you please tell us something about yourself and your character?" The interviewer asked.
"Hi, I'm Becky Swift. I'm playing Mon in the movie. I'm a rich child, but I will pretend not to be one, and I will fall in love with her" she pointed directly to Freen who was blushing at her words. "And yeah... Hope you will all watch it! I promise that the plot is interesting." Becky said smiling widely.
"Hi! I'm Freen Sarocha Jonas. I'll play Sam's character. She is an arrogant singer who is forced by her parents to come to this summer camp. Let's see what she will do!" Freen said with a small smile.
"Becky, we heard your mother is very proud of you. How did she react when she heard you have to play an LGBTQ+ character? Does she let you kiss a girl?" The interviewer asks.
"Mhm... She thought it is a nice challenge for me. She is also nervous that I will get to have a kissing scene, or maybe more, you will have to watch and see. Yeah.."
"Alright, Becky! And you, Freen? What about your parents? They aren't famous, right?" Mario asked.
"Yeah... They are supporting me and helping me with everything I need, and I am happy with that." Freen lied about her family and she mentally hated herself.
"Alright. If you could choose one word to describe each other, what would that be and why?"
"Well... Teddy bear. She reminds me of my collection of Care Bears. She has cute cheeks and she is a protective person." Becky answered while looking at Freen and blushing, and the interviewer made some teasing sounds.
"Mhm... Thank you! Well... Becky would be... a princess... She is very spoiled but in a good way. It suits her. She is cute and pretty, exactly like a princess." Freen said, blushing and making Becky blush too.
"Ooo! This sounds interesting. We will watch you closely. I am your first shipper. Now, any last words for the audience?"
"Please, watch us! The movie will be interesting! Stay tuned! We love you!" The girls said while sending kisses to the audience.
After the interview was done, both Becky and Freen, turned their backs on each other and went to get changed and go home. They didn't say a word to each other after the interview. When Freen left the building, she said goodbye to everyone, including Becky who was still there.
Demi waited for her daughter in the living room. She was very nervous and impatient to see how was the photo shoot and how her daughter felt after this. Deep down, she knew her daughter was very talented. She always imitated her since she was a baby. And when she had song rehearsals in her room, Freen always sang with her mother. However, it is hard to understand that her daughter will become a celebrity, and she will soon become a puppet on strings played by managers and PR teams. She hated all of these aspects.
"Mom! I'm home!" Freen announces her mother, in a tired tone.
"Hi, Freenie! How was it?" Demi stood up and went directly to her daughter.
"It was interesting... I really hope there were some good pictures." Freen said.
"Well... I know my grumpy daughter looks stunning. I don't need any proof." Demi said with a small laugh.
Suddenly, Demi's phone rang. When she saw the caller ID, she facepalmed angrily. It was Joe. He never calls, unless he wants to communicate something regarding Freen, and it is extremely rare.
"Huh! Your father! Let me have this!" Demi said to Freen while answering the phone. Freen was shocked to see that her father is calling. He didn't answer the last time she attempted to reach out to him.
"Hello, Mr. Jonas! What a lovely surprise! Such an honorable occasion... Why do I have this privilege?" Demi sarcastically said.
"Demi, leave these aside! Since when did you dare to have our daughter in a movie? And she co-star's my ex's daughter!! That's insane! Listen, I know you have nothing to lose. But.. I do... Demi, I have my own family now... Do not drag me into a scandal!" Joe shouted through the phone.
"Seriously? So your daughter is not important, right? We should neglect her because you have a new family. Very interesting... You didn't even phone called her when my sister died! What a responsible man! Don't worry, I won't let her ruin your life. Go to hell!" Demi yelled at her phone and hung up the phone. "The hell I saw in him! He's an idiot prick!" Demi mumbled and cursed under her breath, and threw her phone on the sofa.
"Mom! I'm sorry for that!" Freen felt guilty about the situation.
"It's not your fault, baby! Don't worry! How does he know about you?" Demi wondered.
"Oh! We had an interview, and he probably watched that." Freen said, and Demi rushed to go on YouTube and search for her daughter's interview...
"Oh! You and Swift... Great! So.. Did she just hit on you? Ugh! I don't like this!" Demi said in an annoying tone. while listening to the interview. "You gave out your full name... That's why he is angry... He heard "Jonas"..." she remarked.
"Ok.. now, I should go to my room!" Freen said blushing, knowing the next part of the interview.."
"Stay right here..." Demi stopped her. "Ok... no famous parents... I get that... Yes, gender doesn't matter, you can kiss whoever you want.... Alright... let's see the words.. teddy bear? Well... yes... you're the grumpy bear... But...I seriously don't like her looking at you like that...and your word is.... Princess! Oh... Freen Sarocha! Look at me!" Demi rolled her eyes, angrily, while Freen was red as a tomato.
"Mom.. it was just an interview." Freen defended herself...
"Right! Stay away from her! I know you... You will fall for her... I swear to God that this will piss me off completely! You saw that I yelled at your father... Please, don't make me regret this... I don't wanna hear that my daughter is in love with Swift." Demi snapped.
Freen agreed with her mother and went to her room. After a quick shower, she went to bed. Despite all the events, she couldn't fall asleep... The thoughts of her and Becky hunted her. One thing is for sure: She needs to stay away from her, even if she has the most beautiful hazel eyes, and the cutest smile and she was perfect in every way. She suddenly fell asleep with the image of Becky smiling at her...
It was the first time filming, and Freen decided to ignore Becky completely. Hailee was very worried about this ignoring game that her friend was doing right now. She even warned her friend that this will affect her acting and that she will be scolded, but Freen didn't take her friend's advice.
