Bryan's POV:

She fell silent in the backseat.

"Jane?" I asked looking in the rear view mirror at her.

She grunted in response.

"Stay awake Jane, okay? You have to stay awake." Another grunt.

I heard a dull ring come from the passenger seat, I reached over and retrieved Jane's phone.

It's Sophie.

"Hey, How's she doing?" I looked back at Jane.

"She's still in a lot of pain, I'm a minute away from the hospital." I heard Jane moan as she re-positioned her self on the seat.

"Well, I called Marie, she won't be home until morning."

"You've got to be kidding me." The hospital came into view and I immediately pressed harder on the gas.

"That's exactly what I said." I pulled into the fire lane ignoring the signs and hanging up on Sophie.

I slipped the phone into my pocket and grabbed Jane off the backseat.

"I'm sorry if I hurt you." I apologized before lifting her. Her breath hitched in her throat, and she looped her free arm around my neck.

I started lightly jogging into the hospital lobby.

"Can you help me please?" I asked the nearest nurse. "She's in a lot of pain, I don't know what's wrong." I sounded completely desperate, but I don't care. In that moment I felt utterly useless, I can't help her.

"Set her down here." She said, pushing a stretcher towards me. I did as asked, when I placed Jane onto the flat bed she curled up into a ball.

It hurt me to see her like that, so scared and in pain.

I wasn't allowed to stay with her, but after an hour one of the doctors came to talk to me.

"Do you know what's wrong?" I asked, the desperation dripping from every word.

"She has a ruptured appendix. It's good you got here when you did. It would've been a lot worse. She's responding well to treatments, she should be good in a week or so." I nodded in understanding.

"Can I sit with her?" He thought about it for a second before reluctantly saying yes.

Seeing her in the hospital bed with IVs and machines hooked up to her overwhelmed me, but there was no way I was leaving her.

Sophie's POV:

I haven't heard from Bryan since his last update a few hours ago. He said she was out and soon he would be as well.

I got a text about half an hour ago from Marie, she said she'd be home in a hour.

I'm glad because its almost time for everyone to start waking up and I'm the eldest here, which means I automatically become the babysitter.

I also can't cook anything. Which doesn't help with a house full of hungry children.

Marie walked through the door when about the second or third kid had woken up. I ran and gave her a big hug.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy to see you."

She started wafting the air.

"What is that horrid smell?"

She complained, pushing past me get to the kitchen.

"You burnt the microwavable waffles?"

"No way, you can microwave them? I'll remember that for next time."

She shook her head.

"You are banned from cooking in my kitchen."

I laughed only because I thought she was kidding.

"Oh...you're serious?" Her expression was void.

"I'm dead serious." She walked to the other side of the kitchen. "Did you try to make smoothies?" She examined the colorless liquid inside the glass container.

"No, the milk was a little chunky so I put it in the blender to break it up." She pulled a magazine from the counter and smacked my shoulder with it.

"Ouch! I'm kidding! Yes, I tried to make smoothies. Gee-sh."

She took the blender and dumped the lumpy liquid down the drain. "How's Jane doing? Did they figure out what happened?"

"Ruptured appendix." I responded, leaning against the side counter.

She shook her head running her fingers through her hair.

"I hope Bryan is keeping it together, that boy will do anything for Jane." I smiled at her comment, he would.

Jane's POV:

I don't remember much of what happened before I blacked out, but I do remember the Bryan's voice and the sharp jolting pain that burst throughout my entire stomach.

I kept having the same dream on repeat while I was out.

It was Adam, I kept imagining that he was there every time I woke up in the hospital.

Once I finally did wake up I realized it wasn't a dream at all. Bryan and Adam were standing toe to toe at the end of my bed. Adam looked drawn into himself and Bryan, well Bryan looked like he was going to swing at him.

"Jane?" I heard Adam ask when he looked over at me. I quickly started to climb up into a sitting position.

Why was he here? Did his precious little girlfriend dump him? Did he feel bad about everything? I sure hope both of those things happened.

"Jane it's okay." Bryan's voice appeared to my right, he startled me, but it was good to hear his voice.

I had so many questions about the sudden appearance of our unwanted guest, but instead I just said "Hey."

A smile bloomed on his face brightening the whole situation.

"How do you feel?" He asked pushing my hair behind my ear.

"It still hurts." I said, gesturing to my stomach area. He nodded gently placing his hand over it.

I looked over at Adam, he smiled lightly at me, I didn't mean to... but I'm pretty sure I sneered back.

"Why is he here?" I asked Bryan loud enough for Adam to hear. He glanced behind him at Adam.

"He was worried. Marie called his parents and told them what happened."

I'm sorry, she what? No, she can't do that. They don't care about me, why tell them anything.

"Why would any of them care?" I saw Adam visibly flinch at my words.

"Of course we care." Adam replied a little too harshly. Bryan turned sharply towards him as a warning.

"Don't start, Adam." He sneered, I placed my hand on his.

"It's okay. I want to hear this." Adam shuffled his feet for a second before he spoke again.

"We all care. I wasn't the first to find out, your dad-" "He's not my dad." I interrupted, I knew I was being difficult but I didn't care. Those people didn't treat me like a daughter, why should I treat them like my parents.

"Okay whatever, Neal told me because he was worried. He said he wasn't going to be able to come down here until Ana left for work." A scuffing noise escaped my lips followed my a light laugh. "I'll believe it when I see it." That made me so angry, that he was to convince me that they were good people who cared. He saw how they treated me.

Bryan stood up and gestured for Adam to go out into the hallway.

"I'll be right back with the doctor." He leaned down and kissed my forehead.
