TW: Mention's of death, blood and overall nightmare fuel by a person who usually writes lighter stuff.
The first thing Freddy noticed when he woke up was the loud ringing in his ears and a sharp smell hanging in the air. The air felt thin and it took a few deep breaths to clear his head. The ringing slowly stopped as another sound took its's place...
Fire.
Freddy finally managed to open his eyes and saw he was surrounded by all consuming flames. The walls were slowly caving in as the flames creeped up the foundation.
Freddy shot up from the ground, why was he lying on the living room floor? Why was everything on fire? Is everyone okay?
An unholy screech shocked the room, leaving even the bravest trembling. Freddy looked out of the window where a hulking mass of shadow grabbed onto something green and crashed into the ground. The shadow flew up and spewed fire on his already defeated foe, sealing the deal even further.
Freddy's eyes widened in fear. He had to do something. He screamed the word like his life depended on it, and transformed into his superhero alter ego. He flew trough the flames out of the window, only to see the whole street on fire. Sirens where going off somewhere in the background. Some civilians where still running away, with Darla leading them away from the shadows.
"Freddy!? FREDDY! Oh god your okay!" Freddy looked up to where his brother's voice came from and felt like he was going to gag. The armor around his wrists and shins had dents in them, having taken multiple full blown hits. Parts of his suit was scratched up, with dried blood stains surrounding them. He also had one black eye and a big cut on his cheek that was still healing.
"What happened here!" Freddy yelled as he dodged an incoming blast.
"I don't know! We were just finishing up that movie when those things came blasting in. They hit you in the head, we thought you were dead!" Billy yelled back as he threw another lightning bolt at a monstrous hand trying to grab anything nearby.
"So, what's the plan?" Freddy yelled back as he dodged another incoming attack.
"Honestly, we have no plan. I have no idea where Mary and Eugene are and last time I checked Pedro is fighting with one of the bigger guys. Darla is-"
Another screech washed like a wave over the neighborhood together with a scream of pain. The brothers looked over and watched in horror as a shadow like demon had caught up with Darla and hit her in the abdomen.
"You leave her alone!" Billy roared, seemingly forgetting his own wounds, and flew with incredible speed at the monster, hitting him with everything he got. The demon let go of Darla and was knocked back, but as quickly as it fell it stood up, looking even bigger then before.
It let out a deafening roar and ran like a gorilla at Billy, who was standing with his arms wide before Darla to protect her. Freddy flew at the charging monster, ready to hit him with everything he had. As his fist connected with the monsters face a burst of pain spread throughout his knuckles. Like he was hitting at an unstoppable force.
Freddy hissed and grabbed his knuckles in pain as the monster staggered a bit. The monster locked eyes with him as he showed a hint of familiarity, then he looked past Freddy at Billy, who was helping up Darla. The monster roared again as he pushed Freddy aside into the pavement below.
As Freddy was regaining his footing the shadow grabbed onto Billy and Darla and started to crush them in his giant fist. Freddy looked on as his brother and sister's air was cut off and passed out from exhaustion.
In a desperate attempt Freddy flew up high at speeds he had never flown before. His anger fueling him to save his family.
