Suspicion

Rosa was by all means not a nosey person.

As a foster kid she had spend enough time with a helicopter parent to know that she didn't want that for her children. People need their privacy, even if those people are your own kids who you want the best for.

It didn't mean that she couldn't care for what their children did. Just like any other mother she sometimes would wish to look into the heads of her kids and see what is going on in their minds. Just so she could help them better and keep them save.

But no, the love for her children always won over those selfish thoughts. She hoped that they would trust her enough to come to her whenever something was troubling them, no matter the situation.

This all is to say that whatever just happened was completely by accident.

Rosa was setting up the table for dinner. Victor was cooking in the kitchen and the TV played in the living room. Overall a normal Friday. She picked up another stack of papers and went into the living room to relocate them.

"-lice department has stated that it is not yet clear who set fire to the tree, but the fireman had it quickly under control." The journalist said on the TV. Rosa shook her head with a sign, why do they always keep forgetting to turn off the TV when they run off? She should probably point it out again now that Billy has joined the household.

She walked over to the remote on the small table and found it next to the open sketch pad that Darla had gotten during Christmas. While picking up the remote, the drawing on the open page vaguely registered into Rosa's brain. She didn't think much of it while turning off the TV. Darla had already shown multiple drawings that she had made the last couple weeks, and this one didn't seem any different.

It seemed to be a small little sketch of Freddy and Billy having one of their small sibling arguments. The ones where you can see that they argue because they love each other dearly. Rosa found them quite amusing. One of them was drawn more animated (probably Freddy) while the other more restricted (probably Billy).

Oh, and they were both wearing lightning bolts.

Rosa screeched to a hold during her walk back to the dining area. Did she just remembered that correctly? It didn't seem out of place for Freddy to wear a lightning bolt shirt, but she was pretty sure Billy did not have one.

She weighted her options. She could shrug it off as her not seeing it correctly and move on, or she could take a small glimpse into the book again to see if she was right.

Curiosity got the better of her as she walked back to the table and picked up the sketch pad. She had, in fact, seen it correctly. The two people in the drawing were actually wearing a lightning bolt on their clothes, which on closer inspections seemed to be two of the new hero's that had appeared around a month ago.

Rosa raised her eyebrow. Of course it wasn't bad that she drew something like this, but she knew Darla drew what she saw. From small birds to the misadventures of her siblings. She rather not want her throwing herself into danger just to draw something.

The drawing was indeed of the two men having an argument. The one she first mistook as Freddy, which wasn't that hard as Darla drew him in the exact same style as she normally drew her older brother, held his hands up in exaggeration. He was saying something, to which his friend (or sibling? the media wasn't quite sure what their relationship was) answered with one hand pinching the bridge of his nose while the other was waving towards a far away object from which smoke was coming off.

Rosa was aware that her kids knew the new hero's, Freddy even had one of them and Superman at lunch, but this felt a bit out there. Although the object behind them was a bit familiar as well.

She turned the TV back on, which was still covering the news of today. There was some sort of disaster here and some politics there but Rosa wasn't interested in that. No, what Rosa was looking for came at the end. Right there, a report on how three of the new hero's of Philadelphia (the one in a blue suit, another in purple and the man in red) had stopped some robbery in a park, after which a tree mysteriously caught fire. No leads on who ever might have done that.

Rosa looked back into the sketch pad, who clearly showed that the man in the blue suit had done it and the reaction towards it. She did not remember Darla being anywhere close to that location today. Even if she did, she could have not known this, or she was just making it up. Which could be a problem on it's own if she thought so poorly about people she did not know and were clearly trying their best.

She sighed deeply as she closed the book and laid it back onto the table. At moments like these she would have want to see the full picture, but she would never spy on them. Maybe she just had to put it down for the moment and return to it later.

A/N: *Billy and Freddy having another argument*
Darla standing somewhere on the side: Write that down, Write that down!

So a bit of a small one that definitely hasn't been proofread by anyone. But it came out fine, sometimes you got to enjoy what you got.

I am not thinking to do an reveal, mostly as it seems that Fury Of The Gods will be dropping that bomb on them. But, these are also kids were talking about so it will be near impossible to not leave a few clue's around.

Like always, I hoped you enjoyed it and I see you (not literally) at the next one-shot!
