Chapter 8: Deja vu, Skydiving, and Free Falling

"Alana!" I hollered walking towards her.

"Ugh, why are you here?" She asked, rolling her eyes.

"Because someone needs to rid this city of you." I spat back at her.

"Me? But I'm a loyal citizen, someone needs to rid this city of you!" She glared at me as Nyx walked over to her, standing right beside her.

"Wow, what? You need your little pet standing behind you! What? Worried, Imma kick your ass and need someone to come save you!" I laughed.

"Why you little—" Nyx started to come at me before Cassian joined in next to me.

"Oh, and you call Nyx my little pet? What is he?!" Alana pointed at Cassian.

"He's my boyfriend you idiot!" Alana's face turned bright red as I said that.

"What? You jealous that I got him? Well guess what he loves me! Not you, me!" I spat

"That's it!" She yelled, drawing a sword and I drew mine as well.

"You gonna fight me like a real woman or are you gonna let your little pet do it for you?" I laughed. She yelled and ran towards me, narrowly missing me with her blade. I used the opportunity to hit her in the back with the handle of my sword. She came swinging back, the tip of her blade slicing my right cheek. I placed my hand to the cut, and she laughed as I pulled my hand away seeing my blood filled fingertips.

"Oh, now it's on!" I mumbled under my breath. I looked over Alana's shoulder to see Nyx and Cassian fighting, neither one winning or losing. I looked back over at Alana's smirking face.

"You worried about your precious little boyfriend." She fake pouted.

"Oh shut up already!" I said, slashing my sword down her left arm causing some blood to trickle down her sleeve. She stepped away with a furious look on her face.

"What are you going to do, kill me? Like you did your uncle?" I asked getting my sword ready to defend another attack.

"Wha—How do you know that?" She asked, her anger fading to worry.

"Because I was there! I am Nick's daughter!" My voice cracked as I spoke my dad's name. I heard Nyx gasp as her sword clinked to the ground in shock. 

"Your—" Alana started to speak.

"Yeah, the car explosion that you made to kill my father, also killed my mom, my brother and my sister. That's why I've been coming after you. Because you ruined my whole life! I wanted to make you pay! To make you suffer like I did!" Tears continued to roll down my face.

Alana's face turned to fear. She rushed towards me, I tried to dodge but her sword tore into my left arm. As I turned to face her she went in for another blow but this time to my legs. Her blade felt like it was slicing my skin into multiple pieces. I screamed and fell to the floor in pain.

"Thea!" Cassian tried to run towards me but Alana pushed him away. She grabbed me by my shit collar and dragged me towards the edge of the roof.

"No, please no." I begged, not having the strength to move.

"You expect me to show you pity when you never gave me that yourself?" Alana asked

"Why would I show you pity?" I scoffed.

"You never asked me why I killed your father! He was awful to my mother!" She said

"Did you ever think maybe she deserved it! Because the few things that he said about his sister was that she was a spoiled brat who never had to work a day in her life!" I yelled.
