It was the very next day and Tora had gotten to stay home since he was wounded. Hearing a gentle knock, he only mumbled a quick "come in." Asami walked in with Genki and Keisuki in her arms. Tora sat up as Genki reached his arms out to him. Tora picked him up and hugged his little brother. Before that Keisuki also reached out where Tora also grabbed him too and hugged him also.
"How bad are you?"
"Just a bit sore mom"
"Are you gonna be alright for tomorrow hun?"
"Yeah"
It was a quick conversation between Tora and Asami. But they were interrupted by a knock at the door. Asami stiffened along with her sons. Tora only looked in that direction before he even adjusted himself ready to fight.
"Tora! It's me Haru! I came over to hang out!"
Asami and Tora sighed in relief before Tora lifted up his twin brothers and carried them out to greet Haru. Haru slipped his shoes off and had a giant grin on his face as he ran up to Tora and gave all three of them a hug. Tora only patted his back for him to release him. Haru smiled as he gave the twins a kiss on the cheek which caused them to smile. Tora had set his little brothers down where they watched them walk off.
"Hey, Tora! Were you training again?"
"Yeah"
"Gosh, you're worse than ever!""Don't rub it in"
Haru had his hands on his hips before his foot started to tap. Tora was ready for a big lecture from his friend. Once Haru opened his mouth, he didn't even try to stop himself from talking a lot. Tora just sat there and listened to him lecture. Asami had come by and started to laugh at the duo. They both turned their heads toward her.
"My gosh, Haru you sound like Tora's wife now"
"Wife! I should be the husband in the relationship!"
"Oh shut up Haru" Tora groaned.
Asami only laughed at the assurance from the two kids. It was a quite normal feeling for Asami and Tora. This felt fine for Tora and he actually liked this feeling. Haru had given Tora the recent work and they both worked on it together. Asami had made snacks for the children before going back to knitting with Genki and Keisuki. Tora was struggling with a math question and Haru being a nice bestie helped him. After the two were done with homework, Haru checked up on Tora. Tora had dragged his best friend into the room and closed the door. Haru being Haru, pressed on one of the points where Tora had a bruise at. Tora smacked his hand away before Haru tried anything else but that didn't stop that rascal. He took this advantage to climb onto Tora and pinpoint all of the bruises.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Enough!"
"Where are the rest!"
"I don't know!"
Haru had lifted Tora's shirt before they were interrupted by the door being slammed open. Both turned to look at the culprit which was Shinobu who had his eyes widened. Within a flash, Haru was tackled to the ground. Haru whimpered in pain as his head throbbed.
"Ah! Wait, Shinobu! Don't hurt him! This my-"
"Should I dislocate his arm, young master?"
"No! He's my friend!"
"Friend?"
"Yes!"Shinobu had let go of Haru. Haru was quick enough to jump up and hide behind Tora for protection. Tora had explained to Shinobu that Haru was only checking him for bruises. Shinobu was only left with the word "oh" He then apologized to Haru who forgave him.
"When did you get a new friend Tora?"
"Eh? I met him yesterday"
"Oh! Well, it's nice to me you uhh"
"Shinobu," The robot boy said.
"It's nice to meet you Shinobu! My name is Haru Sasaki! I'm Tora's best friend!"
Shinobu only gave a curt nod. Haru whispers to Tora.
"What is he? A robot or something?"
"Don't worry I had the same reaction just like you"
Shinobu only watched as the two were having a quiet conversation with each other. He was shocked that the young master was allowed to go to a public school and make friends. He felt quite jealous coming through because he wanted what the young master had. Suddenly Shinobu was pulled as Haru dragged both of them outside. Shinobu was stiff because he didn't know what to do. He only watched the young master and Haru play in the garden. Haru held his hand out as he smiled saying "Come join us!" He didn't know how to feel but he felt his heart flutter. He grabbed Haru's hand and all three of them were playing in the garden.
A couple of minutes had passed when Shinobu watched Haru make something with flowers.
"What are you making?"
"I'm making flower crowns!"
Shinobu only watched him out of curiosity before he got started by Haru moving close to him. He was ready to hit Haru but he felt something on his head. Haru grinned as he put a flower crown on Tora. Then Haru had put his own flower crown on his head.
"Now we all have one!"
"Different colors?"
"Yep! I gave Tora red roses because well I think of it as love. One day he's gonna have his own family! Then I gave you purple tulips because well I think of it as you breaking out of your shell. And sunflowers for me because-"
"Pure."
"Angel" Tora chimed in.
Haru looked at the two before he giggled.
"I guess then!"
It went to a small peaceful moment where all three were just enjoying each other's presence. Tora got up and ran inside. Haru tilted his head before Tora had run back to them with three different color boxes. He handed them boxes.
"I wanted to make an oath with you two. Haru, you have been my best friend since kindergarten and I wanted to say that I loved hanging out with you every day. I know I may sound mature to you but I'm still a child! But, I wanted to give you something that we could never forget. And that oath is for you to stay by my side when we get older."
Haru had opened the box where it held a necklace that had a ring hanging. Haru smiled and hugged him.
"Of course!"
"Now Shinobu, I know I just met you but I want to make an oath with you because I want to be friends with you also! And your oath with me is that you stay with me also"
Shinobu opened his box where he saw earrings inside and his heart fluttered more than before. The robot boy smiled for the first time and agreed with him. Tora had helped Haru put the necklace on him then helped Shinobu put the earrings on him.
I remember this day. It was a truly happy moment for me. I have my best friend and my newfound friend. Our oath to each other truly wasn't broken. What we had promised each other was true friendship and I was happy that it stayed that way.
