The One Destined For Me(InuSessh Completed)

When they were nearing the doors of the castle grounds, Inuyasha hesitated.

She remembered his temper when he found out she had escaped, his fury and rage was so intense that she knew he killed a few guards.

"Inuyasha what's the matter?" Shipo asked as he climbed up on her shoulder when he noticed that she had paused at the gates.

"Nothing squirt, just remembering something unpleasant" Inuyasha said absentmindedly as she ruffled his hair

"Do you want to tell me about it?" He suggested. "Maybe it'll make you feel better?"

Ever since she turned into a girl the fox has gotten closer to her, he gave up trying to annoy her but then again she wondered how much of that was due to her now female hormones?

She used to see him as a pest for always hovering around Kagome, it always made her think he was weak because of it.

Now every time he would get a bit hurt Inuyasha too felt the need to coddle him. After all, he was just a baby who had lost his whole family in a horrible way.

"It's just that I don't think I'm going to receive a very welcoming hello from the demons in the palace" Inuyasha confessed to him "When I escaped, Sesshomaru killed a lot of the guards because I had slipped past them"

Shippo frowned

"Well yeah, you're the fastest demon I've ever known, other then Lord Sesshomaru, of course you would slip past them" he said "They knew you didn't want to be there in the first place didn't they?"

She thought about it

They knew about her hunger strike, and of course Sesshomaru had guards around her whenever he was away. It didn't take a genius to realize that she was being kept against her will, but what would they say now?

Would they sneer at her for returning? Would they fear for their lives again at the sight of her approaching the castle? She's so different with Sesshomaru now, it seemed like a life time ago that she couldn't tolerate his attitude.

"What's the matter?" Inuyasha looked up to see Sesshomaru looking down at her with a frown

Everyone else was looking at her too and waiting by the doors.

"Darn, I must have been too deep in thought thinking about those guards" she thought.

"Nothing, let's get going" she says, biting her bottom lip in apprehension and walking past Sesshomaru. She only got a few feet away from him, when she felt him snake his arms around her lithe waist making her stop and look behind her. "What?" She asked when he didn't say anything.

"You really must have something on your mind for you to not react to me being so close to you" he says softy

He let her go and folded his arms over his chest "What's bothering you?"

"I just want to know how many guards you killed when I left" She revealed. She really needed to know if it was only a small amount.

He regarded her for a long while, his face gave no hint of any emotion until he pinched the bridge of his nose with his claw.

"I don't know Inuyasha, I didn't exactly bother with a head count" he said "Is that what's been bothering you? coming back after I killed those guards?"

He said it like it was such a useless and stupid thing to worry about, she wondered if she truly did lose her marbles when she allowed this demon to worm his way into her heart.

"You can be so heartless sometimes!" She yelled, upset at his lack of concern of the lives of the demons he slaughtered without remorse

Sesshomaru looked like he still didn't understand why she was so upset

"First of all, you have nothing to feel nervous about, this is your home and as lady of the house they wouldn't dare treat you with nothing but reverence" he scoffed at her

"Secondly, it's not like they do not know about my temper or my ability to invoke suffering on fools, they were the ones who stayed behind to deliver the news knowing full well that I would kill them for it and thirdly, if they allowed one slip of a female to get past them, then they obviously were not fit to stay here and protect my lands let alone Rin, who by the way I'm sure is anxious to see you again" he listed off

Again, she wondered if she really lost her marbles. What made her see past his disregard for life enough for her to desire his embrace.

"Yep, totally gone crazy"

He loomed over her, one claw caressing her cheek "I am not as heartless as you make me out to be, I find that I do have one heart, but it only responds to you"

"Oh he's good" Inuyasha thought, raising an eyebrow at him "Okay Sessh, enough of that before I end up doing something that would only embarrass you and me"

He leans down whisper in her ear sending goosebumps crawl over her body "We can always go to our chambers and discuss matters more in private koneko " 

She leaned her head against him and  rubbed her cheek to his for a brief moment.

"Come on" he said, leading her to castle while his hand rested on the small of her back possessively.
