024 | separation

Time had passed quickly without much happened. The young men got into the same university and took their desired college courses─except for Yoshinori who went to a different university.

After Noa's death, things went complicated for the group. Asahi and Yoshinori blamed each other regarding Noa being shot by Seunghun. If you ask Asahi, that wouldn't have happened if only Yoshinori did not follow him. Talking about Yoshinori's side, that would not happen if only Asahi listened to Noa to not follow him.

Things were pretty messed up at that time, and so, Yoshinori decided to distance himself from them. He would only meet them for eliminations, meetings, and other settlements under the group.

As for Jang Yunhee─still nothing. Her brother, Jang Yunseo, is already back and is going to the same university with the others. The only thing is that, he never spoke about Yunhee─not even a single word.

"Shit," Yoshinori cursed under his breath when he did not feel his wallet inside his pockets. "Where the hell is it this time?" He whisper to himself.

The next thing he did was to search for it inside his backpack. Unfortunately, it was not there too and he started to panic a bit. There are many important things inside his wallet and he could not just lost it like that.

"Yoshinori!"

He looked back, only to see Hidaka Mahiro, a guy that he became friends with during the first day of class. He is running towards Yoshinori with a grin. "You dropped your wallet by the stairs. Good thing I was catching up with you," he told the latter as he handed the wallet. "A coffee will do," he added with a wink.

"Alright," said Yoshinori and gave a small smile to Mahiro.

"Oh, by the way, aren't you going to meet up with your homies today?"

Yoshinori vigorously shook his head. "There's no reason for me to meet any of them today. I don't want to see them either way."

Mahiro only nodded his head and opened another topic. They both exited the university and headed to the nearest coffee shop. They both ordered their desired coffee and sat on a vacant table after that. While waiting for their drink, Yoshinori spotted a familiar face outside the place and it made him rise from his seat.

"Is something wrong?" asked Mahiro, a little concerned about Yoshinori suddenly tensing up.

"I'll be back in a few. I just need to deal something with someone."

Mahiro only nodded his head and that was Yoshinori's cue to run outside the coffee shop. He ran until he caught up to the person. Yoshinori could only pant the person's name.

"Jang Yunseo."

The said boy looked back, surprised to see Yoshinori facing him with his usual face. "Hi?" Yunseo awkwardly greeted the latter with a small wave.

"Glad you're looking great," Yoshinori told the latter. "Where's Yunhee? Is she with you? How is she doing?" He asks consecutively after.

Yunseo pressed his lips together in a thin line, stopping himself on slipping words out of his mouth. That made Yoshinori to raise an eyebrow at the hesitation painted all over the face of the latter.

"What's with the hesitation, Yunseo? Don't ever try to lie in my face," Yoshinori coldly tells the boy. "Anything that would come out of your mouth must be facts or I'll cut off your tongue."

Yunseo let out a sigh and locked his gaze on Yoshinori's orbs. "She's doing great, but she didn't go with me when I flew back here."

"Then, where is she?"

"I shouldn't tell you. I'm sorry."

Yoshinori wanted to ask more, but he knew that Yunseo would still shut his mouth about his sister's whereabout. "You are going to the same university as them, right?" He asks the latter, switching the topic.

"Pardon?"

"You are going to the same university as them," Yoshinori repeated. "That's great."

"Uhm, yeah," said Yunseo with a smile and it faded once again. "They told me what happened a while ago. I'm sorry for your loss. Noa was such a great guy."

With a hum, Yoshinori nodded his head. "You in a rush? I wanna treat you a coffee if you won't mind."

Mahiro was watching the two boys having conversation across the street for a while and he was interrupted when he had a phone call.

"Hey, pretty Jaeyeol. What's up and what's down?"

"Shush with your talking, Hidaka. Are you with Yoshinori right now?"

"Yep! But he is having a conversation with a guy─"

"A guy? Can you send me a photo of them right now?"

"I'll look like a paparazzi if I do that."

"Do it quick, Mahiro!"

"Yes, ma'am."

Mahiro then took a clear photo of Yoshinori and Yunseo talking across the street and sent it to Jaeyeol after. "Do you know the guy?" He asks the girl on the other line.

There was a brief silence on the other line before Jaeyeol lose it. "Boys! Look what I got here!"

There was a lot happening on the other side that Mahiro could not even understand. Jaeyeol's voice was gone and all he could hear was a commotion of male voices.

"Yo, Mahiro," Jihoon spoke as the noise died down. "What are those two doing now?"

Mahiro quickly glance outside and his eyes widened when the two guys were gone. He then looked in front of him, only to see Yoshinori and Yunseo both standing across where he sat.

"Did we disturb your conversation through the phone?" Yoshinori quietly asked him.

"Shit," Jihoon cursed. "I'll call you again later. Good luck on lying with Yoshinori, bye!"

Mahiro swallowed the lump on his throat just as his phone beeped repeatedly after Jihoon ended the call. "No! You guys did not! I just got a call from mom because she misses me," he tells the two.

"Alright. By the way, this is Jang Yunseo and he is one of my best pal in this life," Yoshinori introduced.

"Hidaka Mahiro. Nice to meet you, Yunseo!"

"Wow," Yunseo mouthed out. "The energy is so out of this place."

"Well, I'm just always happy and outgoing."

"Damn, we cool. Unlike Yoshinori who is so boring─"

"Keep talking and you'll never get your coffee on me," Yoshinori mumbled on Yunseo's ear.

"Oh, yeah. Let's get my coffee, shall we?"

Mahiro could only stifle a laugh from his seat, seeing how Yoshinori and Yunseo are so comfortable with each other.
