Chapter 15 - That Was... Anticlimactic

I know, I know. I'm late. It's been a hot minute since I updated this bitch. I think.

Look, main thing is I'm back. Probably said it before, but I'm trying to focus on this story for now until it's done.

Let's just start.

Taker was flying.

More he was sent flying.

He stopped himself and barely blocked a kick. He didn't get time to retaliate as Vali caught him in the cheek with a punch.

Vali was already in front of him again and threw another punch, but Taker caught his arm. He then delivered a kick to Vali's face.

"Dumbass!"

He chased after Vali who recovered quickly and almost hit him with a clean cut that Taker was just barely able to avoid, his suit getting cut up a bit.

"Ah come on! Seriously! This shit wasn't cheap!"

Vali glared.

"The last thing you'll have to worry about is your suit."

Taker summoned his own sword again and blocked a strike from above that was way too powerful for him to stop. It sent him to the ground where he had to take a second to recover.

Looking up, Vali is floating there with the Demon Sword piece.
He descended down until he was on the ground with Taker again, prepared to keep going.

"... You were expecting me to overreact like when we found out Sephiroth was in Smash... Well you're absolutely right. Discount Sephiroth!?!?!"

Over with all the spectators, Lucy sighed.

"Why do I love that moron?"

"Cause you've got a soft spot for dorks like him." Zdrada answered without missing a beat.

They all looked at her.

"... What? That's why I like guy."

They just kept watching.

Back to the fight.

"Son of a bitch I got you this ti- Agh! Shit!"

Taker was punched in the face which sent him back and Vali caught up, grabbed him and threw him towards the group.

Taker landed on his back and slid for a second before stopping right at Lucy's feet.

"Welp.... He can handle everything I throw at him.... Issei, tag in."

Issei sighed.

"This is gonna suck."

Issei went straight to Balance Breaker and shot off to try and take Vali down.

Taker sat up. Everything hurt.

Asia was the first to act and began healing him.

"Hold on. This should only take a few seconds."

After a few seconds, he was perfectly fine. He stood up and gave her a nod.

"Thanks. So what's the plan then?" He looked at Lucy. "You stepping in or am I on my own?"

She just shook her head.

"I only step in when things are at the worst." Lucy said with no worries at all.

Taker looked back at the fight. Issei was holding up too well. He was quickly sent back to them, barely awake.

"That's not things at the worst?"
