It all started on a warm and sunny Saturday morning in Fremont, Indiana. Down the quiet street of Smith Avenueue, there laid a beautiful neighborhood lined with houses on either side. Some were tall, two-story houses. Others were small one-story houses all separated by a driveway and a field of grass. Among these houses about 4 blocks down on the right side, there stood a fancy white house. This house is home to a mom, a dad, and their two children, Charlie and Lucy. Lucy was Charlie's older sister and was 18 years old. Aside from her dad, she was the second tallest person in their family.
Kate had light blue eyes and long brown hair that came down and touched her shoulders. Charlie, who was a little bit shorter than his mom and was 14 years old, also had light blue eyes and brown side fringe hair. Shaffer Middle and High School was the name of the school the two of them used to attended. Charlie was finishing up 8th grade, and Lucy was finishing up her last year of high school as a senior and getting ready for college. When they were younger, the two of them loved playing with each other.
In their backyard or their woods, they would always go on adventures together. One time, Lucy made a treasure map and hid some bought some mysterious items to hide in a a treasure chest she had bought .Then she went deep into their woods to hide it. The next day the two them pretended they were pirates in search for their hidden treasure. As they ventured deep into the dense forrest They could see the big tall treed dancing in the cool breeze and progressivly darkening their path.Shaddows of flying birds made a mootion picture movie to the ground and trees. After two more miles of walking Charlies legs grew weak and tired, Luckily for him thy were comming to a rest area next to a river . Just as he was he was about to sit down Lucy quickly stopped him and informed him that they were almost there and there was no times. Her strong-willed determination was one of the many thiings Charlie loved about his sister except for when he was feeling really fatigued. After this experience he hopped hed never have to go on a really long adventure ever again. Not feeling in the moofor a a swim, Lucy Charlie followed Lucy down to a little sandy part where she had constructed a raft and paddles.Amazed by its great quality, he was suprised that her sister was able to do this in the span of a day.Engraved on both long sides was the word "Cooper".Lucy then old her that she had given that name after their pet dog. Hauling the contraption closer to the water, the siblings then climbed aboard and used their paddles to push off and jouurny across the crystal clear water. Being more out in the open Charlie and Lucy were able to get a way better veiw of the beautiful scenery that surrounded them.It was like something out of a paintings Unfortunately this masterpiece didnt last long and suddenly the wind started to gradually pick up and the clear blue sky was quickly replaced with dark gray storm clouds. Frightened by the Roaring thunder,Charlie begged her sister to turn back but she told him that he needed to brave and that a little bad weather shouldnt stop them from reaching the treasure, especially since they had maade it so far already. She was right as she looked behind him the dense forrest they were previously walking through was really small now. Fueled by her sisters words a now confident Charlie was determined to find the treasure even wwhen the harsh breese stole their map and ran away with it. Thankfully Lucy had great photo memory and was able to lead them to lead the cave where the treasure was concealed at.Walking in the cold dark and damp cave, Lucy calmly held her shivering brothers hand in one hand and a flashlight in the other.Ever step of the way she tried tto ease Charlie's mind and heart by telling him everything was going to be all right and they were almost there.Progresivly his grasp on her hand got lighterFinding an "X" the two dibblings used their shovels and began xigging in the muddy dirt. As they dug a mixtof sweat and the warm rain drenched their faces, but they didn't mind at all since they were having so much fun together. Finally after 30 minutes of hard work Charlie struck something hard and brown with his shove.Uncovering it some more he slowly started to seee that it was a treasure chest. With his sisters help they managed to dig up the chest Looking at it Charlie was really eager to open it up.Using the key Lucy had in her pocket ,Charlie twisted it in the key slot and slowly oppend it up revealing all of Charlie's favorite things, trailmix,Salem Limestonet and some art supplies.Charlie could not believe his eyes , it was everything he couldved ever asked for.Imediatly he thanked his sister and gave her a big hug.Even though he knew that his sister had bought it for him, he was still really wanted to share it with her.Being the older sibling, Lucy also took it upon herself to teach her little brother some things about nature whenever they were outside. Thanks to her sister, now Charlie knows the names of every tree, flower, and animal that lived in their backyard and woods. Aside from the siblings' adventures, as a family, sometimes the four of them would go camping at different campsites around their area. There, they'd go on hikes or explore cool nature sites. Anyways, spending some time in the woods with her sister gave Charlie great ideas for different activities for him to do on his own.
One day, as he looked at some of the cool rocks the river had gathered in his woods, the boy concocted the idea of making his own rock collection from rocks he found in and around the stream. Every day, Charlie would go into his woods with a bag, and when he found a rock, he would wash it off from the river and then put it in the bag. Later, when he was all one for the day, he would bring the bag of rocks inside his house and upstairs to his room. There, he would place them in his small desk drawer. Sometimes, if he was feeling creative, Charlie would grab his paint supplies and would paint some of the rocks. As a Christmas gift Lucy bought Charlie a rock tumbler kit that could polish any of the rocks he found. In addition to this the box came with jewlery fastenings that attached to the rocks as necklaces, rings, earings, and keychains. To show his appreciation for all the fun things his big sister did for and with him Charlie make ra necklace and added her favorite rock:rose Quarts
Whenever his sister was busy with schoolwork or her job as a waitress, Charlie would grab a pencil and some paper and would head outside to draw. Even though Charlie also loved doing fun things on his own, he loved going on adventures and hanging out with his sister.
Knowing that she would be leaving soon for college, the boy wanted to make Lucy something to thank her for all the fun times he had with her. Using a big piece of white paper, some markers, and some photos his family had taken from their adventures and the trips they went on together as a family, Charlie turned them into a beautiful collage that he planned to give to Lucy before he left for college. When that day came, it spread a lot of emotions in the family, especially Charlie. He felt sad that his sister was leaving, feeling like all of his adventures were probably over. He didn't know it yet, but Charlie was about to go on one of the most amazing adventures of his life. Before she left, Charlie gave her the college and thanked her for all the amazing adventures they had gone on together. Then Lucy told her brother,"You're welcome," and gave him a big hug. Then she told him that she would make sure to come back and visit them whenever she had the chance to. She also told Charlie that she would always be with him and there for him no matter what.
