It all happened too fast , way too fast . It all started off after you murmured an old passage you had found in a dusty book on the library shelves , doing as it instructed you to . But what did you do specifically ? You looked up North , directly at the North Star , and recited a passage three times with your eyes closed . As the book had said . Then the next thing you knew was a trail in the ground close to you — almost TOO close to you — and what seemed to be a . . lavender cross with limbs and a hat . . on fire , in the chaotic state of the line that was imbedded in the ground . A quiet , almost inaudible whine came out of the creature . You say there for a moment , processing exactly what the hell just happened . You'd ought to feel lucky though , of course , that it didn't directly hit you .

Tick tock . Tick tock . The internal echoes of a clock ticking had never ceased to stop as the cross stared up at you with anticipation , lightly tapping their foot . " So ? Is there something you need ? Surely , you ' called ' me out here for some reason . " They retorted at your silence , the tapping on their foot gradually increasing . Azlin seemed on edge , if it weren't obvious already . Further inspecting their expression , their eye was twitching in an uneven pattern as they stared right back at you , impatiently waiting for a response .
