Destiny

Sagittarius POV

My anger simmered. The way he was talking to us made me mad. I was going to retort back but I felt a hand on my shoulder. I didnt care to turn around. I already knew who it was. I stared at Ophi. 

''If you stop looking at me like that, Saggi, I might just continue.'' Ophi said, without look up, his gaze straight ahead and confident. I looked away. 

''Now, I will keep this short and crisp. I need you to help me to get my kingdom back. It is not on Earth and you all will be transported by me. If you help me out, you gain special powers along with kingdoms. And if you dont... Well, you already know.'' 

I coughed lightly. Ophi looked at me sharply. ''Yes?'' he asked. It wasnt really a question just a command to shut me up. ''I want your answers. Now.'' he demanded. My heart said no, dont trust him. I felt a bad vibe from him. He looked at Aries again. He seemed to be waiting for an answer from her. ''I need time..'' she murmured, glancing at Libra. Ophi smirked. 

''Time? For what, my child? The price is death. Death, do you hear me? You want to kill everyone here?'' he snapped at her. Aries looked up, her eyes full of hate and anger. ''I need to a-'' 

''Ask everyone? No need. You are a natural born leader. It is your duty to take the decisions and your followers will follow.'' 

''HEY! Not fair. We need to discuss, don't you think? Dying is better than helping you, old brat. I-'' she spat. An odd look came into her eyes. Aries shook her head. ''We accept.'' she said. Ophi smiled. 'Well done.'' 

What the heck?? Aries isnt usually like this-

He took out a box with elaborate designs on it. It was painted golden and he pushed a small button, making it fly open. 12 beautiful pendants lay inside, glowing and painted in our favourite colors. He motioned towards Aries and she picked out a red pendant. ''Aries. The Courageous One.'' he proclaimed. He then took the necklace from her and hung it around her neck, smiling. ''May you be as fearless as your mother and lead the team with determination.'' He murmured. 

He nodded at Taurus. He chose his pendant. ''Taurus. The Prosperous One.'' He hung it around his neck. ''May you always the choose the path of truth and teach others the same.'' 

The rest of us followed...

''Gemini. The Adaptable One. May you always use that head of yours to help others.''

''Cancer. The Intutive One. May you always be loyal like your mother and rule with peace and harmony.

''Leo. The Charismatic One. May you always be determined and stay true to yourself.''

''Virgo. The Intellectual One. May you use your intelligence to enlighten and guide others.''

''Libra. The Charming One. May you always unite us all as one and help us fight in one team.''

''Scorpio. The Passionate One. May you protect your friends with your fierce loyalty.''

''Sagittarius. The Enthusiastic One. May your lively personality help us all to cope with change and stay optimistic.''

''Capricorn. The Practical One. May you always be ambitious and help your team from not deviating from the goal.'' 

''Aquarius. The Progressive One. May you always help the team bring out the best in them to help the universe.''

''And lastly, Pisces. The Healer. May you use your willingness to help others for good and help the team to bond.'' 

Ophi smiled at us. ''Now, you are worthy of fighting for your home. May you all use your powers for the good of others. Any questions?''

''Where are we going? Why are we going? What is the story behind this?'' I blurted out. Leo nodded approvingly. 

''Those make 3 questions. As for the first one, I am taking you to your home. Second, time will tell. And third, time again, will tell.'' Ophi said, in that determined and firm voice of his. 

''Well, just tell us. Like I'm so done with the whole proclaiming thing.'' Scorpio muttered, glaring at Ophi.

''As you wish. Now listen carefully. You are all constellations. Literal stars-'' Ophi said, before being interrupted by Leo.

''I KNOW I AM STAR, BABY!'' Leo proclaimed. ''See, told ya! I'm awesome.'' 

''If you dont cut out that attitude of yours, then I'll cut out your throat.'' Ophi said, in a low voice. Leo stiffened. 

''As I was saying, you have been named after the constellations in the sky. Or rather, these contellations have been named after you. There are many other worlds other than Earth. These world co exist and the one place that holds them all together is the Universe. The Universe has to be controlled by someone and that someone was The Queen and The King. No one knew her name nor his, but they both were fair and just, ruling with peace and harmony and everyone respected them. They had 12 queens under them and they were only girls as the boys were sent off to the army, fighting and dying for their motherland." Ophi paused, then continued.

''The 12 queens painted the night with 12 constellations or patterns of stars to let humans on Earth know that they were watched by people who wanted their good. Now, in another distinct part of another world, a hatred for the king and queen was brewing. The King of that region employed a spy to get information regarding everything.  The 12 queens were seduced, threatened, blackmailed and overall, forced to betray their Supreme Lord. This spy was dangerous and yet, the queens fought till their last day, protecting their kingdoms. However, when The King and Queen got to know of their betrayal, they banished all the queens from the kingdom. It hurt the queens, of course. They left heartbroken." 

"The spy, who had been recuited by the Enemy, had planned this all along. Without the queens protecting their vast kingdoms, the empire was weak. The Enemy plunged into battle, breaking havoc and ultimately killing the emperor and emperess. This enemy has been ruling the kingdom, effectively killing all who revolted against him and maintaing a realm of terror."

 As for the queens, they decided that when the time comes, their offsprings would save their motherland. They sent 12 stars to Earth, hoping that when the time comes, their motherland would be free again. You all were sent to Earth, with bracelets on your hands, stating your name. As for the Enemy, her daughter now reigns over the Universe. We must free your motherland. It is what your mothers would have wanted. It is your duty and you must fullfil it.'' Ophi finished his somewhat patriotic little speech, with a sad look on his face.

 We all were quite throughout. His story fascinated us all. It all seemed superficial, but still somehow rang true. 

''I am here to guide you and lead you into battle. You all have gained powers and at the right time, will learn to use them. As for today, take some rest and we leave tommorow.'' Ophi announced. Aries got up and dragged herself to her room, seemingly still in a spell, her eyes vacant.  

I got up. Libra looked at me, frowning slightly and slightly tilting her head towards Aries. I nodded, and whispered to Leo. Asking him to go to Aries. 

Fishy business. I didnt trust this guy, yet his story seemed convincing enough. Well whatever, I'll think this through tommorow.
