Chapter-6

The first question she bangs on my head is that. Great!

"No, I don't!" I say as I sip my drink, It's non-alcoholic by the way.

"Ohh, I like him." She says and looks me straight in the eye.

"You are lucky!" She continues and leaves from there. Am I missing any context? What is going on? I just ignore her and keep sipping my drink.

"Hi" A voice behind me startles me.

"Umm" Is all I can think, I don't even know the guy who is standing in front of me. He stands out from most people because of his height and he is surely taller than Aarav. I never thought someone could be taller than Aarav. But he is totally opposite to what Aarav is like. He is not as expressive as  Aarav. He seems like someone who isn't much of a talker.

"Hey, Am Dhruv. Isha's ex-boyfriend and Aarav's ex-best friend." He says and takes a seat a bit farther from me sensing my discomfort. I was not ready to talk to anyone. My mind is fully messed up already. I don't want things to go more out of hand.

" Aarav never mentioned you?" I say, more like a question.

"Yeah, we had a huge fight. It was before you guys even met." He says.

"Oh, Is there anything you want from me?" I ask.

"Yeah, stay away from Aarav." He says to which I just burst out into laughter. I look back at him and he looks serious. That sounded like a joke to me. A guy coming to me out of nowhere to say this.

"Are you serious?" I ask looking back at him.

"Yup," He says. Before I could ask any more questions Aarav appears out of the bloom. His expression read anger and disgust. Never seen him like that.

"I left you with Isha right?" He asks me without batting an eye at Dhruv. He was so loud I could hear him even though we have a lot of space between us.

"Yeah, She went to talk to her friends," I say, but before I could finish my sentence, Aarav was already pulling me out of the party. He had a steel grip on my hand. Even after pulling so many times, the grip didn't phase.

"You were not supposed to meet him." He says as we were standing outside the venue as he hits his hand on his forehead. That made me angry, first, his to-be girlfriend talked weirdly to me then, his ex-best friend saying me to stay away from him and him now pulling me out of the party to get angry at me.

"You can't decide who I will or will not talk to!" I shout back at him angrily. We never had a fight before, it's not like we never had differences, we bickered but we never fought.

"What did he tell you?" He asks me.

"I don't need to tell you! You are not my boyfriend." I shout at him once again.

"What is wrong Saumya?" He asks now cooly but I don't answer anything back. I know my anger is stemming from the fact that he likes someone else and it is eating me away inside.

"It's nothing, I am sorry," I tell him controlling my tears.

He comes and hugs me out of nowhere.

"It's not your fault. You didn't know he was a nice guy. He is Isha's ex. She told me he was a really mean guy. That's why I want you to stay away from him. I love you so much. You are my best friend." He says raising me up and throwing me down at the same time.

Staying with him at every moment is hurting me. But I don't think I can lose him over this.

"Isha likes you," I tell him each word coming from my mouth breaking me into pieces.

"How do you know?" He asks happiness in his eyes purely evident.

"She told me." I try to match his enthusiasm but nothing comes.

"Great!" He tells me once again and hugs me.

"Aarav am not feeling well, can you drop me off at home?" I ask him and he nods his head. Before I knew it he drops me off at my home and I run as fast as I can to my bedroom.

Just then I get a message from someone on my social media.

Dhrv- ' Hey this is Dhruv'

I just leave it on seen.

Dhrv- 'Am sorry I startled you today. But I really want you to know. Aarav is not a nice guy. He is not the guy you think he is.'

Me- I have known him for three years! He is a nice person.

Dhrv- ' I have known him longer than you. Even seen his wrong side.'

Me- It doesn't matter. Just leave me alone.

Dhrv- At first he will seem good, but you will know sooner.

I just leave that on seen. I know him well. He is the first person I met during high school and we hit it off as friends well. I flow back into the past thinking about how we met.

"Hey, Will you be my girlfriend?" This tall guy comes and asks me. While I had my head buried in my novel. I look up at him once and he has the audacity to wink at me.

"What?" I asked him to make sure I heard him right.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks me winking once again. I was pretty sure he is either crazy or worst drunk.

"Shut up!" I shout back at him and get back into my book.

I hear people behind him laughing. But I pay no interest.

"Am sorry, It was a dare." He says. He forwards his hand towards me and says " Aarav" But I had no interest in talking to him.

I muster up the most Sinister smile I could ever have " Get lost" I tell him sweetly.

"It's nice to meet you 'Get lost' hope I see you around"
