A Big Move

Nothing like seeing your private life splattered all over the newspaper. But the facts are still out there and only those who don't know what is true and what is false will think what the story says is the truth. Gretchen has never been one to notice those around her. So she has no idea that she has been played. She will not be able to find a job as a housekeeper anywhere. What woman would trust her after she was fired by Grace Grey for cause. Grace is known to be benevolent and has given chances to people so they can change. Gretchen basically slapped her in the face over and over again. The truth about the baby bump came out and she had to give the money back to the papers that she sold her sad story to. Fact check people. Then check their backgrounds. My attorney pushed for a quick divorce. Gretchen had to be escorted out of my house and I had movers place her things in storage. I of course went through everything prior to her getting it back. She was given the codes and address of the storage unit. I paid for it just to get rid of her. I offered her one hundred grand to sign an NDA and to go away and not show herself in Washington State again. She can't talk about her life in Washington State ever. The divorce was amicable and she had to take a pregnancy test a very thorough one. Since I had not had sex with her since the once she set up a fake rape scene our marriage was annulled. She however turned out to be two weeks pregnant. I had proof that we had never been together. Carolyn was my proof. She signed a sworn statement that we had been together since I got back from marrying Gretchen. At no time did her or my staff leave me alone with Gretchen. Once the divorce went through I got all my possessions and assets back from Kate and Ethan.  I gave them a surprise gift of a million dollars each. At first they wanted nothing to do with it, but finally took it. I found out that they donated it to a charity for victims of the kind of crimes Ethan had gone through.

I can't believe I have to get out of Washington State and all my things were gone through before they were thrown into the dirty storage unit. James has left me to my own devices and I have no one to turn to. Eamon let me keep my car and a few other things, but I was shocked by the hundred thousand dollars to sign off on the divorce, an updated NDA and I can't ever mention him or anyone in Washington State after I leave the state for good. I call my cousin and ask for a place to live and he agreed to it. I explained most of it, but leave out a lot of the truth. I started selling off all my designer things to get extra cash. When a few realized that they bought my things they bought more and listed them on an auction site and got a lot more than they worth. The baby bump made a lot along with the dress from the wedding of Ethan and Mia's. Somehow the news got to Eamon and he was mad. Kate took care of buying the rest and donated them all to a charity auction after getting them thoroughly cleaned. So I left with just the meager belongings I had brought from the Greys. I saved all my earnings they gave me and returned their gifts for store credits. I sold the in store credits for cash. Two hundred thousand dollars later and I am driving to Nebraska. Nebraska has never been a place I pictured living my life out in. But it is the only option for now.

Bradley Johnson
I tell Elizabeth that hopefully Gretchen won't be here long because I know she won't want to be. She hands me our first born son Oscar and says feed him please while I have to clean the guest room up yet again.

Bradley has a good heart, but we can't afford another one of his relatives mooching off of us again. We are the safe haven for them. I guess if my family were still alive so will I be their safe haven. But mine saved me from the Lincoln's clutches and died saving me. I will never forget that. Bradley has no idea that I was compensated monetarily after the government released the funds of the Lincoln's and Miss Mateo to all the relatives and the victims of their heinous crimes. I couldn't touch it so I had it put in a trust fund for emergencies. Bradley found me crying in a small church and he tried to console me, but he scared me because that was how the Lincoln's had gotten hold of me by coming up to me just like that. The minister calmed me down and explained that Bradley was a good man. It took me a while but I started feeling safe in that church and then the town. I just don't trust my gut feeling about Gretchen. Her story doesn't add up. My gut instinct tells me she doesn't have anyone else to turn to. Bradley is not her only relative and she doesn't elaborate as to why she didn't reach out to her family in Seattle after all that was where she is coming from. He hasn't bothered to ask his other relatives in Seattle about them not taking her in. I have two days to get the house ready and I work hard doing it. Finally the house is spotless and ready for our guest to arrive. The Bentley that drove into our drive sure drew attention. Then I see the Louis Vuitton luggage she is holding in her hand and the Birkin bag  she is carrying. Bradley heads out and helps her get her other luggage out of the trunk. Oh lord we are in huge trouble with this guest, well I am not anyone's servant and damn well not hers.

The house is so tiny compared to what I am used to as I get out of my Bentley and grab my things and head to the door I see a woman and then Bradley coming out of the door. We are not in Kansas anymore Toto.
