The only thing I remember was that Reinhart didn't say a word to me until we returned to the palace.

Heavy silence was felt in the room. All the way back, he never once gave me a glance. Perhaps the thought of Trisha filled his head.

"Caecilian."

I opened my eyes to the voice of Reinhart calling my name. It shocked me because he had never called me by my full name ever since we married.

"...Reinhart."

"I will be bringing Trisha into this house."

I was taken aback.

"...Why?"

"She's sick and she needs me."

But...

"What about her family? Can they not take care of her?"

He never really thought of me.

'Reinhart, do you ever wonder what kind of shock or hurt I'm going through? or Do you simply not care?'

Would you reconsider if you know that I need you together with our child?

"My decision is final. Starting tomorrow she will be living here with us."

I swallowed the words I could not say. I don't know about the future of me and my child. But Reinhart said, 'I don't need to worry. I'm his wife now.'

***

Late in the afternoon. I saw Trisha unloading her things and Reinhart happily assisting her.

The maids came into my room running with an urgent look on their faces.

"Duchess."

"What's going on?"

"Lady Trisha is here in the palace."

I paused. Then continued,

"Yes. The Duke informed me that she will be staying with us."

I got up from my seat . And then Reinhart showed up through the slightly open door. He was looking at me with a stiff look on his face. I could have guessed without hearing what he might have come to talk about.

"Sit down, Duke."

"Caecilian. I'm here to tell you that you need to treat Trisha as an important guest here."

"..."

He looked at me in silence and said with a short sigh.

"She's sick so treat her carefully..." He continued to speak.

I didn't even remember what he was talking about.

"You can stay at the villa if you want. I know you're surprised. You can relax there for a while and come back." So, tell me.''

It seemed as if he was trying to care for me, but I wasn't happy about this at all.

You should never let her live here, if you really cared about me.
