I was surprised by how forcefully Reinhart opened the door in my room. His face was dark and he walked to me and started shaking my shoulder.

"Why did you do it? I specifically told you to treat her nicely and this is what you've been doing?"

I was confused about what Reinhart had been saying, so I asked.

"What are you talking about?"

"Ha." He sighed.

"Now, you're going to act that you don't know and try to deny it."

"But... I don't really know what's happeni...."

He cut me and continued speaking with a loud voice.

"Trish came running to me crying with a swollen face, because you slapped her."

"Huh? I didn't do it! I would never do that. I haven't even left this room since morning. Please believe me."

"Did you really think that I would believe your lies?"

"She said, you've been doing this ever since she came. Now you're acting innocent."

"I'm warning you. If I ever heard something like this again., you'll never like what I would do with you."

He said, as he left the room. I stared at the open door where he had just left.

***

Slap.

I was stunned when I felt Reinhart hands to my cheeks.

This is the first time he ever physically hurt me. The reason he gives for this violent act is even more bewildering — he accuses me of slapping her former lover, Trisha.

I was deeply hurt and confused, I vehemently deny this allegation, but my husband refuses to believe me.

The emotional strain of Reinhart's lack of trust leaves me feeling wounded and abandoned within my own marriage.

"Caecilian, I've told you, that you wouldn't like what I would do if you ever hurt Trisha again."

"But..." I tried to explain.

"Do you really think I would still believe you after what you did to her today? I shouldn't have married you." Reinhart said, as he left me frozen in my place.

Tears started to fall on my eyes. I started running and accidently bumped into Trisha.

"Oh! Duchess, why are you crying? Did something happen?" Trisha said as if mocking me.

"What did you tell Reinhart? I never ever hurt you to begin with."

"Hahaha." Trisha began to laugh like crazy.

"Reinhart is mine. You're just a substitute, now that I'm here you are no longer needed."

"Why are you doing this to me?"

"Well, I just want you out of our life. Did you know? Ever since I lived here he's been spending every night with me." She told me while giggling.

"...don...don't lie." I stuttered.

I feel so defeated at that moment. So that's what's been going on. That's the reason why I hadn't seen him. I thought he was just busy with his work. But this..

He's been busy spending his time intimately with her.

"Why would I lie? You know Reinhart loves me. Maybe one of these days, you'll be surprised when I announce my pregnancy." She said while whispering in my ear.

"I wonder if he would still choose you. Hahaha." Trisha said as she walked past me.

I felt like someone poured cold water on me with this revelation. I never thought that Reinhart would do this inside our home.

He said that I'm his wife now, that I shouldn't worry.

But that was all a lie.
