"I'm sorry!" Light said pleading. "It's just like there's something whispering that name in my ear and I guess I finally snapped..." He lied; there was no whispering just Ryuk saying L's real name ALL the time just to get his stinking apples. How he wanted to kill the damn thing. But the only way to do that is to have Ryuk fall

in love with him and then put himself in danger therefore forcing Ryuk to sacrifice himself. Or patiently wait for his years to run up but only Ryuk himself knew how long he had to live and there was no way he'd let his life span get so short. Besides Light could probably die twenty times(of old age) by time Ryuk even had a dent in his life span. So both was out of the question. Of course he could give up the Death Note but then he would be giving up all he's worked for. Damn Shinigami!

By time the brunette thought all this about two seconds had passed. L was still furious but the college student was wearing down his defenses. "No one knows my real name, not Wammi, or Watari, or anyone! How is it you just guess? It's not like it's a common name or even a name you'd find in a baby name book

for boys." the black haired man said calming down.

"Like I said, I didn't guess! It just came to me and it's like someone's been telling it to me all the time; I just snapped..." Light said innocently.

L didn't know whether to believe him or not. Then again, he loved the brunette, should he really be angry at him for knowing his true name? L leaned across the couch to Light and kissed his forehead. "You're forgiven for now but if I die in the next eighteen months you're Kira." L said both teasing and serious. Light blushed and looked down. "Why are you still so shy?" L asked his beloved UKE. "After everything that has happened? I only forgive you because I love you; I mean if you had a fake name then I'd want to know it but... 'how' is still the question here..."

"...I'm sorry..." Light finally said.

"What for? I Said I forgive you." the black haired man said confused.

"I know..."

"What's on your mind, Raito-kun?" he questioned returning to his old self.

"I've just been wondering how this would've turned out if I WAS Kira..." the college student said ashamed.

"Well... I would've still been in love with you... but if you WAS Kira then... laws are laws and I'd still —though it would kill me— sentence you to death..." the genius said his voice breaking on the last word.

"You still think there's a possibility of me being Kira, don't you?" Light asked already knowing the answer.

"I can't let my feelings get in the way of my work... there's still a chance... everyone has the potential to be Kira, even Matsuda; it's just your deduction skills are comparable to mine and... well..."

"Kira is the same as you... both fighting for your view of justice...

don't you ever think that maybe there's a chance that... umm... both of you can be correct on justice? Do you ever think that maybe those who commit a crime should pay for it, no matter how small it is? Maybe those are Kira's views. Maybe Kira thinks the criminals should pay with their lives other than just a year or two in prison...?" Light tried to get the genius to understand his

—well Kira's— point of view.

"Everyone's innocent until proven guilty! There's no reason at all to kill those who may be falsely accused!" the black haired man spat through his teeth.

"Sorry, sorry! I was only trying to get in Kira's head is all." Light said trying to calm the now tense L.

The genius took a deep breath and smiled at the brunette. "I know Raito-kun. It's just that when you talk like that it makes me feel like you are Kira... and the bad part is that if you were him you wouldn't tell me because for one you'd be sentenced to death and two I'm supposed to be Kira's archenemy." L leaned over to kiss Light's forehead once again but the brunette moved up so that he kissed his lips. The soft texture surprised L and made him pull slightly away only to push back and delve deeper in the kiss.

Light pulled L on top of him and re-position his legs comfortably under the genius. L gladly followed the instructions that his male lover's body was making him do.

In no time at all they were nude on the couch with their erections rubbing against one another —lips never parting except for the removal of their shirts. L was truly going to miss the feeling of them making love.
