Race my mind - H.S.

Summary: Griffin is competing in a race and just found out the mystery racer who's constantly beating his times and stats will be at the race. Hailee, being griffin's #1 supporter, always goes to all his events and gets to meet her brother's racing arch-nemesis.

A/N: Took a small break, I had a lot to work for school, WHICH speaking of it, I had just caused a 2-hour heated discussion about the future of MCU. It's really interesting to hear everyone's opinion of how it's currently looking for the future of the MCU, but he had me thinking about Kate's Character development and how I THINK a love interest with Kate would work out. SO. I think I might start writing something about it. There are certain pinpoints I believe would cause a lot of development with Kate's character, and I really just wanna write it out so.... yeah.

Expect that soon, I have a real-life screenplay concept I have to finish up for school before I jump into a new project though, plus 'songs for you,' which will have a chapter out soon.

"FUCK!"

Hailee whips her head toward the noise, quickly running to her brother's garage where he stares furiously at his laptop screen, typing aggressively in search of something.

"What's wrong, griff?" Hailee could count the number of times Griffin was ever mad on just one hand, he was never one to let his emotion get to this state, so for him to have a random outburst like this... well it had to be a dire discovery.

"That racer is going to be there.... that one that keeps breaking all my records! They haven't even been in the game for more than a few months, and they're seriously destroying everything I've worked for!" Griffin ran his hand through his hair in stress, the bitterness sinking deeper in every word that exited his mouth.

Hailee recalled Griffin mentioning the newly instated racer, recalling how heartbroken the man was when he first found out they broke his cherished record, then recalling how pissed he was after he found out they broke 5 other records he and his other friends held. The worst part of it all was that there were zero faces to match the name. The racer had only their name to advertise since they were still fairly new to the sport, having zero photos of themselves to reveal to the public.

"And they're in my same bracket so I'll go against them!" Griffin felt sick at the thought, he had spent countless nights and days working on his car for the event, and he didn't want all his hard work to vanish in the race against the mystery man.

"Y/n right? That's the racer you're talking about?" Hailee had to wrack her brain of the hours of Nascar talk she had to endure with Griffin, recalling all the rants the man had spoken about of the racer.

"YES! Seriously when I see this dude.." Griffin stumbled on his words, there actually wasn't much he could do to the racer. They beat him and his friends fair and square, but that still didn't stop Griffin from feeling resentment toward the unknown racer, "... I'm going to give him a piece of my mind! Seriously he needs to respect all the older drivers, we've been in the game for years, all here comes this rookie taking all the titles for himself. Seriously people have no respect these days..." Griffin continues to rant, typing furiously as he looks up any information he could find about y/n.

Hailee listened intently to her brother's rambling, she always adored Giffin's devotion to his sport, and how the man was relentless towards his craft. Spending countless amounts of money and hours on just one car, and doing it with all his heart, she loved seeing him do what he loves, especially loving seeing him succeed and achieve all his records/goals. However even Hailee knew Griffin was acting a bit ridiculous toward this new racer, every journey has its ups and downs, something undoubtedly Griffin knew, and though Hailee did want to call her brother out on it she decided to bite her tongue against it.
