It takes a strong soul to understand that if you bet you will lose,
Yet you gamble anyway
For as long as the game lasts,
Laughter will heal.
It takes a brave heart to fall in love with somebody
Knowing that it will be the sweetest of poems,
And also the toughest to write once it all dies.
It takes an fool to write about you every single night
With the knowledge that you will not read me,
And even more of an imbecile when I know that when you do not read me, it is because you don't care to.
It takes a fucked up mind to unravel a tale that has taken time and tears,
To create a week-long fairy tale;
But it's got to be even worse if you don't,
When the heart howls,
Desire urges
And reason is the only one who does not speak bravery.
You have made me become many different things,
My favorite one remains,
When you made me yours.
Make it again,
Come here.
Come with everything you have,
Bring your doubts,
Your worries,
Your insecurities,
Your highest hopes,
Your brightest dreams,
Your worst fears.
Come and rest your body on top of mine;
Your lips on my neck and tangle your legs up with mine.
Wrap me tenderly and fall asleep beneath me.
Let me grow accustomed and master the beats of your heart.
Let my breath catch some of that rhythm so they can duet.
Hold me through the whole night,
Awake and wake me up in the middle of the night, in search of more kisses only because you could not fall asleep.
Let me drift off to sleep over the sound of your dreams.
Leap on top of me in the morning and get me up with giggles just because you could not wait to speak to me any longer.
Let me make the coffee and stay in bed talking until the night comes back and coffee turns to wine.
Just come.
