Abandoned in the Amazon

Chapter ten

"Mako, why didn't you let the tribe tell me I had a brother!" I said, angry that I had ever trusted him.

"Hey, Don't you ever yell at your elders!'' I told Lexis to wait outside, because I knew Mako would get like this.  

 "Well why did you keep it a secret?"Mako sighed. Didn't he know he would have to tell me this sometime!?

"I didn't want you to band together and try and take over our tribe or anything."

"Why in the Amazon would you think we would do that?!" I said, taken aback.

"Because I misjudged white men...and I'm sorry." WOW. Mako has NEVER said sorry, never admitted his mistakes!

" I made a huge mistake, will you forgive me?" I was tempted to say no, I really was. But....I just couldn't! In response to his plea, I gave him a huge hug.   

After going back to Chris, he said he had a huge surprise. He brought me over to Mako.

"We hadn't been talking about medical stuff...we were talking about a house." I was confused. A house!? "WE ARE BUILDING A HUT IN THE AMAZON!!!!!"

After celebrating, Lexis wondered, "Chris, why in the Amazon? Don't you live in the outside world or something?"

"No bud, I live in the Amazon for my job. I am looking for cures to diseases and stuff, remember?"

Oh yeah! I'm so glad I don't have to choose between Chris and my dad. Now we could be together, and hopefully we could stay in the Amazon forever.
