That night I slept well. I actually had a family hut! If only mom was here too... And with that thought I drifted off to sleep.
I woke up to find the whole tribe in a frenzy. And thats a lot of people running around! Ever since the passing of Cayme, the people from both the Tayope tribe and the Cayme lived in the Tayope village.
I ran outside, hoping it wasn't anything bad. Amache dragged me over to the Amazon River. Peering across the thin part of the river, I saw an amazing sight. Lots of white men and women were gathered on the other side, peering at us. My tribe ran away, yelling and screaming. I stayed though, gazing at people who were like me. white. I smiled and ran back to get Chris and Mako. After I told Chris my plan, he actually wanted to help! But then I had to figure out how to get Mako on board with the plan... So I told him to come with me to the river. Of course, he knew that that was where the white people were.
"Mako, it is the only way I will ever really forgive you, the only way to get me to trust you ever again." I begged him.
Looking straight into my eyes, Mako smiled weakly. I took that as a yes, and grabbed his hand, forcing him to run with me the whole way to the river.
The white people were starting to leave. Yelling for them to stop, they turned around at the noise. Then Lexis fell into the river. The dreaded deadly AMAZON RIVER!
