Based on: Yes/No where Finn proposes to Rachel
It was the week after Finn had proposed to Rachel in the auditorium and she had told him she needed to think about it. And a week after Mercedes and Kurt basically told her to say yes especially Mercedes who told her there was love like they had. Which upset Rachel a lot. And she told her to be quiet and doesn't know anything at all and told them both to leave.
Rachel had a secret and it was that she is bisexual and had known for a long time. Only one to know was Puck.
Rachel was scared that Finn wouldn't accept her bisexuality like Puck always did. At times she didn't want Finn to know because of how he treated Kurt and Blaine, but at the same time she knew that Finn had to know because she was with him.
Rachel was in Puck's bedroom discussing the dilemma she had.
Puck sat next to Rachel on his bed and said
"If he really loves you like I did. Then he would accept you." Rachel softly spoke
"He never really accepted Kurt or even Blaine. And Finn asked me to marry him. I told him I'll think about it." Puck looked shocked at Rachel and said
"He what?" Rachel sighed
"Asked me to marry him?" Puck stood up, looked at Rachel and said
"You said no right?" Rachel looked up at Puck and said
"I didn't. I said I'll think about it." Puck folded his arms and said
"What's there to think about my American Jewish Princess. Say no. He just wants to keep you here and not allow you to go to NYADA and New York to make it big on Broadway and not allowing you to be yourself." Rachel stayed quiet. She never told Puck that she didn't get into NYADA because of her suspension and her choking.
Rachel listened to what Puck said. And she spoke
"I didn't get in Noah. I choked and my suspension record was taken into account. I'm not going to college or make it big on Broadway." Puck looked at Rachel shocked, relaxed and hugged her and said
"I'm sorry Rach. I didn't know." Rachel hugged Puck back and said
"It's okay. You're actually the only one that knows. Not even my dads know. You know what they're like." Puck did know because he grew up with Rachel. He and Quinn both did. While Quinn was possessed with Regina George and bullied Rachel, Puck stayed by Rachel's side.
"Maybe I could decide what to tell him based on how he reacts to my sexuality. But please be close just in case you need to be protect me?" Puck kissed Rachel's forehead and said
"Of course I will." Rachel was grateful for Puck. She was nervous to tell Finn. She was scared of how he would react ot what he would say to her because of how he was towards to Kurt and Blaine and saying the awful f slur to Kurt in the basement of Burt's home.
Rachel always felt at ease with Puck. She knew Puck's pansexuality secret and has hooked up with her ex boyfriend Jesse who came out as gay a year a go.
Puck always had a soft for Rachel. He knew her secret of hooking up with Quinn when both girls were trying to work on their original song, making it that Quinn once again cheated on Finn.
Puck let go of Rachel and they awkwardly stood there
"You're welcome to stay if you like, I'll sleep on the floor and you can have my bed. You know how ma and my little sister Sarah like you." Rachel nodded her head and said
"Of course." Puck then walked to his closet, got out some clothes and handed them to Rachel to wear.
Rachel wasn't shy changing in front of Puck like she always with Finn. Puck always admired her and always made her feel beautiful unlike Finn who always compared her to other girls especially the cheerios such as Quinn, Santana and Brittany.
Puck stopped Rachel, turned her around and said
"Letting you let me go was the the worst decision I ever did, but you belong to Finn." Rachel looked at Puck sadly as she changed and said
"I know." Puck knew he had to force himself to be with Quinn because after all Quinn is the mother of his daughter. Puck had to let Rachel go and Rachel had to let Puck go.
The following day Rachel was waiting for Finn in the choir room while Puck waited outside.
Finn walked in and saw Rachel. Rachel looked at Finn and said
"I can't Finn. I really can't." Finn was upset with Rachel's answer and said
"Why not?" Rachel took a deep breath and said
"I just can't. I'm not ready for marriage. I told you I have a plan for my life. And I want to stick with it. And being married at 18 isn't part of that plan." Finn couldn't believe what he was hearing and Rachel continued
"We always fight Finn. And you always go back to Quinn. And you don't defend me or anything or even support me at all. You don't even stop Jacob Ben Israel from sexually harassing me and posting about me on his blog." Rachel took Finn's ring from her necklace and hands it back to him and said
"So I'm sorry Finn. Really. I can't marry you and can't be with you at all anymore." Rachel then walked away leaving Finn alone in the choir room. She ignored his pleas and stops.
Rachel could never tell him about her bisexuality or her hook up with Quinn. She hooked her arm through Puck and they walked the halls together.
They may not be able to be together but they can love each other, which they know. They always knew.
They wanted each other but couldn't have each other and it hurt them a lot but it was the way it was meant to be.
