Rachel always dreaded going to her common room. She hated her house, and hated being in it, and worst of all, she was the only muggle born in Slytherin, she tried to keep that part of her life a secret, tried to blend in and say she's a pureblood Slytherin like everyone else in the Slytherin house, and the only two people to know about her blood status were Sebastian and Trent. but somehow Santana had found out and she, Draco and Pansy make her life miserable and even got the rest of the house except Trent to do so because of it, and the worse part is Sebastian does nothing to defend her, but her best friend Trent does, and so do Thad, Jeff and Nick even though they are in different houses to her. Even her sister Marley is in a different house to her and Sebastian's younger brother Skylar is too.
Rachel feels alone. She has no-one, she thought Sebastian was her friend but he joins in with the teasing and torments everyone but Trent does to her. She tries not to be in the common room at all, even in classes she gets bullied by her fellow Slytherin and even her house master Professor Snape does nothing. Rachel slowly walked into class not wanting to attend at all, and as she walked through the door, she was shoved into the doorway and then eventually pushed to the ground with her books flying everywhere. She looked up and saw that it was Santana, Pansy and Draco. Draco laughed with every other Slytherin in the room Sebastian included which hurt her the most, and as Draco continued laughing he said
"clumsy little mud-blood." She ignored the name he called her, and as she was picking up her books, she heard
"Let us help you Rach." Rachel gave a small smile when she saw Finn and Thad kneeling to the ground to help her and she said
"Thanks, but I got it, I'm used to it, its why I try not to be in my common room." Thad knew why, but Finn didn't, Thad told Finn to leave as he wanted to talk to Rachel alone, and as Finn walked away, Thad looked at Rachel and said
"You doing okay Rach?" Rachel shook her head no as she accepted her last text book from him and said
"No I'm not. I can't go to my common room, everyone but Trent hates me, and calls me mud-blood and traitor all because I'm a Slytherin muggle born." Thad felt for the girl, as he knew that she doesn't have it easy like her sister does in Hufflepuff, and Thad himself promises Rachel that he will protect and look out for her sister in his house, and in times like these, it makes him angry and upset at Sebastian for not defending Rachel. Thad held his hand out for Rachel to take and said
"Come on, you can sit next to me. If they say anything I'll stand up and protect you, as would Cedric, Nick and Jeff." Rachel gladly accepted Thad's offer, took his hand and let him lead her to the table he is sitting at with their friends. it was moments like these that Rachel loved about Thad.
Across the room Sebastian was sitting with Trent watching Rachel and Thad the whole lesson. He will admit that to him and Trent and Skylar only that he loves Rachel, but is afraid, and he hates that Thad and Rachel have gotten closer. Trent nudged Sebastian as they walked out silently after the bell rang and said
"Thad and Rachel aren't together yet and if they were I would encourage them." Sebastian looked at Trent as Skylar walked over to them and he continued
"Thad makes Rachel happy, and has protected her even more since Santana let it known to all the Slytherin's that Rachel isn't a pureblood Slytherin, Thad even helps your younger brother Skylar protect Rachel's little sister Marley. and if Rachel and Thad do get together, it will be your fault for letting it happen." Sebastian glared at Trent as he left, and Skylar looked at him and said
"You don't like the truth Sebastian. You do nothing to defend her, and do nothing to stand up to her when Santana, Pansy and Draco bully and torment her, at least Thad stands up and defends her against them. like just now when she was shoved into the door way and then pushed to the ground, you could have went over there and helped her instead of sitting here and laughing, and letting Thad and Finn help her. You and I knew about Rachel being a muggle born, long before the rest of Slytherin knew, and you were still her friend, one of your best friends, and now she isn't even your best friend anymore. What changed Sebastian, and don't tell me its because you love her, and you're trying to protect her, because if you did love her like Thad does, then you would have been defending and standing up to her." Sebastian looked at Skylar shocked and surprised, and said
"Thad loves her too?" Skylar nodded his head and said
"He does. Marley told me. If you weren't so much as a coward, and didn't worry about what others think of you, and actually defend and stood up for her then maybe you would have Rachel instead, and she wouldn't have gone into the arms of Thad for protection, safety and comfort." Skylar then walked away, to his next class. Sebastian watched Thad and Rachel talking and laughing, it broke his heart to know this is because of him. As he watched on, he saw Draco, Pansy and Santana walking over to them. Sebastian walked over to them, as they reached them, and before Pansy, Santana and Draco could say anything, Sebastian looked at them and said
"I think that's quite enough, don't you think?" Santana looked at him and said
"Why should we Fivel, why don't you join us?" At those words Thad and Rachel were worried at what Sebastian would do. Sebastian looked at Rachel and then at Santana, Pansy and Draco and said
"No. I don't care that she is a muggle born Slytherin. and neither should any of you. you were all her friend before you found out her blood status. She's my friend, I know she can't forgive me for a long time, but I'm going to stand up for her, against you three and the rest of Slytherin if you continue to bully and torment her." They were silent and Sebastian continued
"I'm done worrying about what thinks of me. and so should you." If he himself can't be with Rachel, the least he could do is make sure Rachel is happy with Thad, and can come back to safe common room.
