Yaakov's POV
"I am only going to ask you this once, and I would appreciate you not lying to me please"
I exhale while leaning forward, my elbows coming to rest on top of my knees as I stare straight into Cohan's eyes. We knew that whoever was using the ports out of Aqaba in Jordan, was using them to transport the missing woman and children that were disappearing throughout Israel. We knew their destinations, but not who was the supplier. My men were camped at the docks down in Eilat since our last meeting, but they have come back empty-handed every time they report back to me. It was like dealing with a ghost. The men I had on the Dumrains were reporting unusual behaviour from the brothers, as in they had stopped venturing out completely, only seeing their men working the streets and nothing else.
My gut was still pointing in their direction, and I always followed my gut no matter what.
It was the one thing that I trusted more than my brother and men.
This meant that someone was helping them out, keeping their footsteps hidden from my prying eyes, and that person could only be our dear police commissioner who was seated opposite me, trembling in the old wooden chair while we occupied one of my citizen's restaurants for our monthly meetings.
"How much are the Dumrains paying you to be their bitch?"
I breathed in his fear as his eye's widened in terror, orbs darting around the room wildly before he began shaking his head vigorously. This only angered me even more.
"I-I would n-ever disrespect you! I'm not working for the Dumrains! I swear!"
I heard Danial sigh beside me while I shook my head in his direction, leaning back into my chair as my fingers began to undo the buttons on my suit jacket.
"This is very disappointing, I was hoping you would speak the truth one last time before I send you to hell Cohan"
His mouth gasping was the last thing I saw before Mohammad moved quickly behind him, covering his head with a black cotton bag while he lifted him by the neck. His legs began to kick out around him while Danial and Ari held down his arms.
"Cuff him and throw him in the trunk"
I say calmly before rising from my chair, and turning around as we all exit the building. I didn't want to kill him in the restaurant, it wasn't Mrs Samer's fault that our police commissioner was a rat, plus killing him in her and her husband's family's restaurant wasn't something I felt comfortable doing. Not to them or anyone. No, he will die at my house, like all the others.
"I am truly sorry about this Mr and Mrs Samer. I hope this will compensate you for the trouble."
I smile politely at the worried couple watching my men and brother bragging Cohan out of the building and throwing him into the trunk of one of my cars.
Mrs Samer just shakes her head.
"I always thought he was a good man"
She sounded disappointed, watching with sad eye's as her husband snaked his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him.
"Goes to show you can't trust just anyone"
"Thank you again for housing this meeting, please get home safe"
I smile, handing the envelope to Mr Samer.
"You too Mr Avraham, you too"
Once in my car, I exhale tiredly, running my fingers through my hair as I look down at my shoes. I didn't feel like talking to Danial or Mohammad who was riding with me back to the house. I didn't feel like coming to this meeting if I was honest. All I wanted was to see Ava. And I could feel my heart aching to be with her, to just touch her, anything. But who was I kidding? After the events that took place a few days ago, I was betting she wanted to stay as far away from me as possible.
