6-Coffee

*coughs

"Audrey, you okay?" Asked Melendez.

"Yes yes, don't worry about me" answered Audrey.

"Well if you need something just tell me okay?"

Assured Melendez." He begun his way to the kitchen for some coffee. "Hey Audrey, coffee?" Offered Melendez.

"Um, no thanks" Rejected Lim. "I uh... just need to get some uh... yeah breakfast, it's a nice day off huh!" Murmured Lim.

"Do you want me to..." shouted Melendez "Fine"
Lim slammed the door.

Lim went to the grocery store, her hand landed on a pregnancy test.
" It couldn't be right?" She thought. " Just in case" she grabbed one and went to pay.

" Hey, you're back, thought you left my to see other men." Melendez joked.

"No way. I love you" Lim went up and gave him a kiss. She walked into the bathroom. " No no no... please don't be..." 
All of the sudden, 2 bright red strip appeared on the stick. "Fuck" she thought.
She walked out and saw Melendez laying on the sofa reading the magazine.

"Neil?" She asked " I think I need to tell you something"

"Yes babe" Answered Melendez "What is it"

"Okay, so be ready." Said Lim. "I'm pregnant!"

"What the heck did you say?" Surprised Melendez.

Lim looked at him in silence.

"It's good news!" Said Melendez.

"The bad news is that I don't want this baby!" Said Audrey.

"It is your choice, totally yours." Said Melendez.

"Okay, I am going to the hospital tomorrow..." Said Lim.

"Wait my parents are coming to stay a  tree San Jose for a few days, wanna meet them?" Asked Melendez. "They know I have a girlfriend but I'm sure they wanna meet the real person."

"Yeah, why not!" Agreed Lim.

"Great, I will invite them for dinner." Said Melendez.

"Wait, tonight? I didn't even prepare!" Said Lim.

" it's fine we can go out and eat." Said Melendez.

" Just don't worry, they are very nice old people." Assured Melendez.

"What if they don't like me? What if they think I am not right for you? What if..." said Lim.

"It's fine, as long as I think you are the right person, they will be fine with you." Comforted Melendez. "Just relax"

Soon they arrived the restaurant, Lim was in a plain white dress, she really did look like an Angel from heaven.

"Well well well, seems like my son son found a beautiful girlfriend!" Said Ivan, Melendez's mother. She stood up and give her a big hug. She is a really graceful lady.

"It is such a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Melendez." Lim said.

She walked to Mr Melendez and shook his hands. "Mr Melendez! It is such a honour to meet you! Neil told me so much about you!" She greeted.

They sat down and ordered food, but the bit of time just became even more awkward since nobody is talking. "Audrey, how long did you and Neil know each other?" Mr Melendez began.
"We met each other at the bar about a month ago." Lim answered looking at Neil sweetly, Neil held her hand gently.

"That's nice! Where do you come from, I mean, you don't look western." Ivan started asking again.

"Mom!"

Lim opened her mouth but no words came out. "Just asking" Ivan explained.

"Yeah, it's fine, I'm from Taiwan." Lim said. "Oh, there's comes the food!"

"Oh, sweetheart don't change the topic" Said Ivan. Lim smiled awkwardly.

"Actually Mom..." Neil began.

"Yes?"
"Audrey is pregnant." Neil said lowering his voice.

"Oh my god. You know what Audrey, better stop working from now." Ivan said.

"I am not intending to have this baby." Lim said. Melendez shouldn't even mention it, it just made his mom talk more, which she didn't like.

"She is nice, but I'm just not good talking to people, especially my boyfriend's mom..." Lim complained. She sat in the car remembering all the awkward conversations.

"Is anything she said made you feel uncomfortable, tell me Audrey. I'm here for you!" Neil said.

"I'll will take half a day off tomorrow" She said.

"Just take a whole day off, take a rest." Neil said "it's already tiring for you."

"Your mom texted me"Audrey said "you wanna hear?"

"What she say?" Neil asked.

"She wants us to get to a..." She stopped. "Further relationship" she looked confused and turned her head towards Melendez.

"Let's just talk about it at home" He said "here we are." He parked the car and went inside while Lim was still frustrated with his mom.

He sat on the bed with Audrey, "Are you really pregnant?" He asked.

"Why do I wanna lie to you?" She asked back. Neil walked out, "coffee?" He asked.

"No!"
