It was a delightful afternoon, when sunlight splashes all over Audrey's face.

"Ms Audrey, are you sure you want to do this?" Doctor Jones asked.

"Yes..." Audrey was lying on the table, it felt colder than ever. She grabbed the blanket under her and closed her eyes.

"Ok... you are going to feel a little pinch... It will go away very soon..." Doctor Jones explained.

Audrey felt so guilty, she caused a baby to die a few years ago, and now she is causing another one to die again deliberately.

"Hey, are you okay? Sorry I couldn't be there." Melendez comforted while Lim stepped into the ER gate in her white coat.

"Yeah, I'm fine, no need to worry." Lim said calmly.

"You should actually take a day off, you know..."He suggested.

"No, I'm absolutely fine." Lim said. "what do we have here? Okay... a 34-year-old..." Audrey walked to the nurse and started her day of covering the ER, while Melendez prepared for the surgery.

Audrey scrubbed in a femur repair surgery later, but she just couldn't focus. All she could think about was the baby that was supposed to have a wonderful life but was killed after 1 month.

"Suction." Ordered Glassman. "Dr. Lim, suction please." He repeated.

"Sorry... sorry Dr Glassman..." Audrey quickly got her mind back to the surgery.

After the surgery, surgeons walked out of the OR. Glassman came to Audrey, "Hey, are you ok?" He asked carefully.

"Yes, sir. Absolutely." Audrey replied, she knew she was lying but she just couldn't tell the truth.

"Okay then, good. You did a good job." Glassman patted her on the back. Audrey smiled politely back while Glassman walked away.

A tiny drop of tear flowed down Audrey's eye, but she quickly wiped it away. She took a few quick steps to the hall and saw Andrews walking towards her. "Dr Lim! Heard a lot of things about you. You are a great surgeon." Andrews said.

"Oh thank you." Audrey said humbly.

"By the way, the is a common kidney transplant surgery scheduled at 4pm that I want you to lead. You interested?" Andrews asked.

"As... as my first surgery?" Audrey exclaimed. "Yes! Yes, thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity."

"Okay, I will be there supervising." Andrews walked away.

"Yes!"She whispered to herself. Her eyes shone in excitement. Then she texted Neil saying that she couldn't go home with him tonight, and wants him to go first. And went to prepare for the the surgery.

As she was walking, Neil chased up. "Hey, got your text, you having your first surgery?" He asked.

"Yeah, Andrews assigned me for a living donor kidney transplant." She answered back. "So it's probably gonna be late, no need to wait for me."

"No, it's fine, I can wait." He insisted.

"Well."Audrey walked away and left Neil alone again.

"Doctor Lim, you ready?" Andrews asked while Lim looked at the patient on the table.

"Yes sir." She walked in and picked up the scapel. Meanwhile, Neil was in the conference room doing some research.

At around 8pm, Lim almost finished her surgery as Melendez got an email from care home about her sister. He quickly hop up his Tesla and activated the engine and started driving. Neil picked up his phone to send Audrey a note, but didn't notice a small truck coming towards him...

"Done!" Audrey said eagerly as she finished her last stitch.

"Perfect Doctor Lim" Andrews looked satisfied, that motivated Audrey.

The surgeons scrubed out quickly and Lim noticed a man with multiple truamas all over his body, surrounded by many nurses. He looked extremely like Neil, she was concerned so she walked towards. It was Neil.

"What happened!" She asked anxiously.

"Doctor Melendez was crashed by a small truck 5 minutes ago." said Nurse Villanueva. "BP's dropping! We need to get him into surgery now, Doctor Andrews?"

"I'll scrub in right away. Get preped" Andrews ordered.

"Doctor Andrews!" Audrey called. Andrews turned around. "Can I scrub in?"

"Doctor Lim you've done enough, go home get some rest, I got him." Andrews comforted.

Lim knew that Marcus was an excellent attending surgeon, but she justed wanted to be there with him. She sat and waited for hours and hours until Neil was transferred out of the ER and into a room. It was already 1 am in the midnight.

Lim got up and asked. "Is he gonna be okay?"

"Won't know until he wakes up, there's severe damages to vital organs."Explained Andrews. Lim nodded and sat beside his bed. She picked up his hand and put on her face, feeling the stroke on her chin.

"Please don't leave me, Neil, please." She prayed silently in her head...
