"You know that I am not my father. I am not going to execute Merlin." Arthur said. A weight that had been on Lancelots shoulders now left and he relaxed a bit.
"Percival, do you want to go on reading?" Arthur asked. Percival answered with a nod.
Morgana. It is my fault that she has turned out like this, mine and mine alone. If Arthur knew what she is doing, he would blame himself for what she has become. But it is my fault. It was I that showed her the Druids, it was I who said that magic is like a sword, the sword itself isn't evil, it is the user. So magic itself isn't evil, it can be beautiful. Magic is only a weapon.
"He knew. He knew what Morgana was doing but he didn't say a word about it.." Arthur said a bit angry, and betryed.
"But think about it if you were in his shoes." Lancelot said. "What was he to say about the beloved ward of Camelot, he who is a low servant?" Lancelot took Arthurs silece as an answer. "Yes, nothing."
"Next one is noted october." Percival said as no-one else spoke.
"The goblin." Leon and Arthur breathed and looked at each other.
"The wh.. No I am not going to ask it is going to be the same answer as the last time." Gwaine said a bit grumpy. "'You'll see.'"
I am trying not to laugh. It was my fault that Gaius was possessed of that goblin, but, Arthur with donkey ears, it is to funny to not laugh at.. And what happend to Uthers hair..... Well,we can say he has a hat on now.
Everybody around the fire, except the king, began to laugh. Arthur only looked a bit grumpy.
"Merlin and his way with words..." Lancelot said still smiling. Arthur put a weak smile at this, looking at the ground so the rest didn't see it.
But it wasn't funny when I got in prison for that I have magic. I have magic, but you know, the goblin said, through Gaius, to Uther that I had magic. Well, I got myself out, got the goblin out of Gaius (Ohhh I am making it sound easy, it wasn't, 'cause I couldn't hurt him cause then I would hurt Gaius.) and Gaius didn't tell Uther that I was the one who had let out the goblin.... Well, that is what has happed the last days, except, as usual, Arthur was a dollophead. I really like the word.
Arthur didn't seem happy about his nickname.
"I can read now." Elyan said.
This man who just leaved Camelot was special. He drunked a LOT, but he had a noble heart.
"It sounds like Gwaine, without the last part.." Percival said and the knights laughed. Gwaine just smiled and said:
"Maybe...."
But he don't show much of the last thing. He saved Arthurs life, and Arthur let him have whatever he wanted. But it came some idiots and he had to come help me when I spied because I suspected them, and he got exiled. The idiots where two men that wanted to kill Arthur (ohh suprise!! I wonder how many enemies he have made through the years....) but I stopped them (Another suprise!). Arthur wanted to make knight of the man, and I must say I think the same thing, but he got exiled and is in some tavern somewere far of. His name was Gwaine.
The whole group smiled, wide.
"That was the end of it. It is a painting on the next side... It is a girl..."
"GIRL?" Gwaine nearly sceamed. Elyan turned the book so the others could see. It was a girl. It was a very beautiful painting. Arthur thought he had seen the girl, but the memory was blurry.
Freya, I miss you. You own my heart. I miss you so much. It has been an hard year without you. I can't tell how much I miss you, it has been nearly a year since that day Arthur...
I ran after her that day. I couldn't give her much, but I could give her a good funeral. I am still sorry what that witch turn her to, only because she had killed her son, when she was defending herself. I know I shouldn't had let her out of that cage, but I had to. I can't really explain why... She didn't deserve to be turned to a beast.
Arthur looked at the ground.
"No. No, don't say it was THAT beast..." But he knew that it must had been her. He remembered fully now: The druid girl had transformed to a beast, and he had made a mortal wound on her. Merlin had ran after her, but he hadn't thought of why. He had killed his best and most loyal friend's love.
People say something about bleeding hearts, some times. I think I have heard someone say: "A bleeding heart is the wound that will last forever.". That is much truth in those words, but I think that is more to say: it is also the hardest wound to bear. It is for me, the hardest one of my wounds to bear.
