"So what brings you to my hidden cave?"
"From our description of you, you already know." The King spoke up.
"I only foresee what is in the bottom of your heart - like how you truly feel about Gwen, young Lancelot." Surprise showed on the brown haired knights face as he turned towards the voice. But something in his face seemed like he'd been excepting this.
"Gaius said we must tell the truth and only the truth - well, there is no denying that I did fall in love with her. But as we all know here - you can trust love as much as the wind. It comes and goes, sometimes it never really disappears. But for me that's all past me now." He bowed to his king. "I swear."
"Dear knight, you may proceed." Her hollow voice rang out. It seemed to come from everywhere at once, but Lancelot had had a feeling whilst he spoke that the Mind had been right in front of him. "Now, who do we have next? Elyan." The only brown skinned knight looked up, his eyebrows knitted.
"Yes?" He didn't feel scared, just found this whole experience strange.
"What do we have here.. You are uncertain if you really deserve to be one of Arthur's most honorable knights." Elyan winced at this. He didn't expect this.
"What?" Arthurs eyebrows where knitted so tightly together the where only a straight line below his forehead. "How can you possibly think that?"
Elyan quickly spoke up how he was always scared before every misson. That he might not see the light of the next day. How he always seemed to stay in the back, never there to protect his king or kindom. How he'd always been looked down upon by his father, uncle and so many more.
The tallest of the men went forward and patted the dark skinned man on the back.
"You still always come with us on every misson. And there is all the bravery I need to that. And you have done more than enough for your country." The King spoke again.
"Sir Elyan, Sir Percival, you may both proceed."
"But I said nothing?"
"You're actions and thoughts said enough."
Cautiously they begun walking in the direction of where Lancelot disappeared.
"Leon." The knight had almost understood it was his turn. "You wonder if you're bravery is enough for the King of Camelot."
"Are you kidding me?" Gwaine looked at Leon. "Man, you like, next to Arthur, the bravest of us all. Honestly."
Leon didn't look as he completely bought was the long haired knight just said. Arthur rolled his eyes, but turned his head to the unsure knight. "Correction: You are the bravest of us all." The king spoke. Now it was Leon's time to roll his eyes as he smiled.
"Sir Leon, you may proceed." And Leon, trusting the old physician with his life, walked forth with a proud posture.
"Sir Gwain-"
"I'm unsecure about a lot of things, you don't need to ramble them up to me. I don't need to go through. There is enough men on the other side to protect a rather big village, I think those idiots can get a root without me." The brown haired man gave a half smile into the void.
"That was exactly what I was going to ask you about."
"Wait what?" As the men before him, he knitted his eyebrows together in confusion.
"Why do you think you're lesser than the other knights, you even see yourself as lesser than all the servants at the castle. Why, brave knight?" Gwaine's bright smile suddenly disappeared and he took a step back in surprise, and his face begun to melt into the shadows of the cave.
Arthur looked at his knight with the greatest confusion he could muster, and he was more confused by Gwaines low thoughts about himself than the others fears.
Instead of asking the obvious question, he just stepped closer to the long haired knight, who - he now noticed - was shaking.
"I never fit in anywhere. I am never enough for anyone."
"Sir Gwaine, you may proceed."
"Why?!" He shouted at the Void."What can I have possibly done?!"
"You have showed that you have the purest of hearts. You have showed your king that you too can be afraid. And there is more bravery in that, then in the previous acts of all the other knights together."
A small smile danced on Gwaines lips. "I sadly must leave you, good Princess." was the last thing he uttered before he too, disappeared into the cold void.
"King Arthur Pendragon. You're turn."
