BLAKE’S POV

I woke up just as the sun was starting to rise in the horizon. I slowly let go of Heather wanting to holder her in my arms longer. She hugged the pillow I had been using to her body the. I sighed not wanting to leave her. But I had too.

“Where are you doing?” she asked her arm had reached out and was holding my wrist as she looked at me with her sleepy eyes.

“Just going to go. I’m not tired” I said pulling her arm from my wrist softly.

I gave her a lingering kiss and picked up my bag as soon as I noticed she had fallen back to sleep. I closed the door behind me quietly and walked downstairs too see Ale lying on the couch watching T.V.

“What are you doing?” he asked me.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Kari kicked me out for duck taping her to the car seat the other day” he answered with a grimace.

“I’m leaving” I responded grabbing a granola bar and opening up the rapper.

“What?” he asked shocked.

“My dad called. He needs me in Europe” I answered.

“So you’re just going to leave? What about Heather?” he asked.

Heather. I felt a pang on my chest as I thought of her getting hurt. I didn’t want to leave, but I had too. Even if it was for my bastard of a father I had to leave. I stayed quite looking at the ground.

“I’ll drive you even though I’ll end up in the dog house” he said getting up and grabbing his truck keys. I tried to smile but it looked more like a frown.

AT THE AIRPORT

I walked through the nosy airport dodging the other people on their way to their flights. Business men walked as quickly as possible to their flight. Mothers with about a billion children tried to calm them down as they ran around shouting and screaming. I arrived at my gate sitting my bag on the chair beside me. I pulled out my IPhone and dialed the number I dreaded the most.

Heathers.

PHONE CALL

“Blake where are you?” I heard Kari’s voice say.

“At the airport” I said before I could stop my self.

“I figured as much. Now get your butt back over here!” She shouted at me.

I heard a sob and ragged breathing through the phone, “Heather?” I asked.
