5: The Journey

Emory concentrated out the window, drinking her morning coffee. She was deep in thought, borrowed books open on her desk, and her school letter was on the floor.

"Life is getting more dangerous," Her father said while reading the article her mother had written on the cup.

"I'll be a student at Ilvermorny this year, if You-Know-Who wanted to chase after me, I'll run to your classroom," Emory replied.

Matthew rubbed his chin not wanting to mention that they would not be at Ilvermorny this year.

"There's still a chance that you won't be safe," Matthew said.

"Do you want me to give up school," Emory joked.

"No, but--," Matthew began.

"No buts! Dad, if I want to be Headmistress one day, I need to prove myself. You know Headmistress Fontaine has a long and advanced history, it's what makes her such a good Headmistress," Emory exclaimed finding this whole conversation a joke.

"Just promise me you won't go throwing yourself into danger," Matthew said, knowing his daughter is too much like his younger self.

"I promise Dad," Emory said glad the conversation was over.

King Cross Station, England

Harry Potter and his fellow friends waited to board the Hogwarts Express.

Harry handed Emory's letter to Hermione to read. He looked sad, "Read the end,"

Harry,

.......I know you've been wanting to know what my job is going to be after I finish Ilvermorny. And I know how much you want me to move to England. But for years I've wanted to be a professor, I know your thinking about how I could teach you at Hogwarts. But I also want to be Headmistress and to be Headmistress you have to have attended the school your leading. So I can't do that at Hogwarts, only Ilvermorny. We have a Headmaster and Headmistress who both think I would be a perfect Headmistress. They're the ones who decide the next Headmaster and Headmistress. I'm so sorry to disappoint you like this. Stay safe while you go to school, and TRUST your friends! They are worth fighting for.

Hermione looked up sadly, "So she's not moving to England?"

"No," Harry said madly "She says she misses me but she doesn't want to be around me"

"Harry, she really wants to be Headmistress and she can't do it at Hogwarts. It's not because she doesn't love you," Hermoine reminded him.

"Yeah, I guess," Harry said.

The train then blew a whistle.

"You will never believe this girl I met at the world cup," Cedric said to his friends sitting in the compartment.

"Who did you meet Ced?" Cho Chang asked.

"Was she hot?" Ernie asked earning a smack on the head from Cho.
