Chapter 19 - Finding The Courage

A few weeks later...

Location - (L/N)/Shirasagi Residence, Bedroom

Your POV

A hint of sunlight hit me in the face when I woke up this morning. It feels like it's already hot, and it's not even noon yet. I guess this is just a sign that summer is right around the corner.

I looked over to see Chisato sleeping next to me in my bed. She looks so cute when she sleeps, I couldn't help but let out a smile. I thought us living together would be a dream, but it wasn't a dream. It's real, and I couldn't be anymore happier.

Chisato let out a small yawn as she wakes up. She gave me a warm smile.

"Good morning, my love." She said.

"Good morning, Chisato." I said in return. "Did you sleep good?"

"Yeah, I did." I said. "Did you sleep good as well?"

"Same, but the sun woke me up." I said.

Chisato chuckled a bit.

"Well, it is a sign that summer is right around the corner." She said.

"Yeah, then maybe we should avoid going outside." I suggested.

"Good idea." She said with a smile.

Just seeing that smile of hers makes my heart melt. I always pictured us being together for the rest of ours lives, and I think I know how to make it happen, too.

A few days later...

Location - A Cafe

As we were halfway through the week, the weather began to cool down a little bit. Thanks to that, Chisato and I decided to take advantage of this, and decided to go a cafe to enjoy ourselves. I can see a smile appear on her face.

"This is a good idea, isn't it?" Chisato asked as she took a sip of her tea.

"Yeah, I agree." I replied while taking a bite of the chocolate cake I ordered.

I plan on asking Chisato to marry me. Thankfully, her parents gave me their blessings, and her father was kind enough to help me pick out the right ring for her. I was a bit nervous to ask her at first, but I gathered as much courage as I can, and spoke to her.

"Hey, Chisato... I need to talk to you about something important." I said.

She looked at me with curiosity.

"Yes, my love? What is it?" She asked.

"I just want to say how wonderful it has been to be your boyfriend." I said and smiled at her.

Chisato didn't replied, but she did gave me a smile in return. I think my words touched her heart.

"When I first met you, I didn't think it was possible for the both of us to have a special connection, but I am happy that we did." I continue to talk. And of course, I'll have to thank Reona for introducing me to her.

Chisato continued to smile at me.

"When we started dating, I knew you were the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, and so..."

I got up and stood by Chisato, then I got down on one knee and showed her the engagement ring her father helped picked out for me. She gasped as she and everyone else in the cafe watched me.

"Shirasagi Chisato, will you marry me?" I asked.

Tears were coming out of Chisato's eyes, but she kept on smiling.

"Yes!" She excitedly responded. "Yes, (Y/N) (L/N)-kun, I will marry you!"

I was so happy that she said yes that it made me speechless. I placed the ring on her finger and everyone began to clap and cheer for us. Some even recorded it, so her fans are going to know about it.

They might be jealous and get mad at me for it, but I don't care. Not one bit. As long as I have Chisato, that's all I need.
