You and Mando were in the Razor Crest. You had just failed a mission cause you got hurt badly mid-fight. Mando didn't seem mad or anything. He was just Mando. You, on the other hand, were absolutely livid at yourself for screwing it all up. Your jaw and fists were clenched as he fixed up the blaster wound on your side. His touch was so calm and gentle. You admired him for how he could stay calm in every situation. Technically, you stayed calm, too. You just kept all your anger inside and never acted on your rage.

"All done," Mando whispered in accomplishment, trying not to startle you as it was clear you were deep in thought.

You looked at him, escaping your thoughts, then down at your stomach. "Thanks," you muttered.

"No problem, kid," he stated simply, ruffling your hair. He got up and headed to the cockpit.

"Sorry," you blurted out before he started climbing up the ladder.

"For what?" he asked in confusion, looking back at you.

"Screwing up the mission" you mumbled, putting your head down.

"Hey, you were hurt, I wasn't just gonna leave you to die for some credits," he said, gently lifting your chin.

"I still messed it up," you muttered, walking away sadly.

Mando watched you walk away with saddened eyes. He sighed to himself and climbed up to the cockpit. A few hours later, you later you landed in Navarro. He went down to the bottom of the ship and you were sleeping in your small sleeping space. You looked adorable with a small drop of drool dripping from your mouth. He chuckled to himself like a proud father. He decided it was a good idea to leave you there while he went to town so he gathered his weapons and supplies and left.

Soon later, you woke up and rubbed your eyes sleepily. You wiped the drool on your sleeve and stood up. You pulled your jeans up and scratched the back of your head. You climbed up the ladder to the cockpit. "Mando?" you asked, looking around, only to realize he wasn't there. You sighed, then looked out the window to see a tall cliff in the distance. Your mind immediately went to suicide. "Nobody would even care," you mumbled to yourself. You made your final decision and snuck out of the ship, not that there was anyone to sneak by, and started running to the cliff.

Mando soon got to the ship. He looked at where you were when he left only to see you were gone. He immediately went into protective mandad mode and started panicking. He searched the ship and still couldn't find you. He ran outside to see if you were out there and saw a figure on the edge of a cliff, only to realize it was you. Then you fell. He thought he was seeing something. He ignited his jetpack and immediately took off toward you. He caught you with seconds to spare before you would've hit the ground and died. He then crashed into the grass, still holding you huddled in his arms.

Your eyes shot open and you pushed yourself away from Mando. "No, no, no." You shook your head in denial, digging your nails into your scalp.

"Y/n..." Mando started, reaching a hand out to you.

"No," you said pushing his hand away "This is all my fault."

"Y/n, stop!" Mando said sternly, holding your shoulders firmly so you couldn't get out of his grasp.

"All I do is screw everything up," you whispered as you let a tear slip.

"Y/n," Mando said sternly.

You looked up at him but instead of seeing anger and rage, he tackled you into a hug. He was happy. Happy that you, the person he loved most, were safely in his arms. After a few minutes of laying like that, Mando let go of you. He got up and saw that you fell asleep. He smiled at you and picked you up bridal style. He flew you to the ship and carefully laid you down in the spot you were sleeping in earlier. He put a blanket over you and sat beside you. You woke up twenty minutes later and Mando was down there with you.

You immediately put your had down, averting his gaze and your fists clenched at your side in nervousness.

"Wanna come up to the cockpit?" he asked, sensing your nervousness.

"Huh?" You looked up at him, cocking your head to the side in confusion.

"C'mon," he chuckled, holding his hand out for you to take.

You grabbed his hand hesitantly and he pulled you up. You followed him to the cockpit and you both sat down. Mando started the ship and took off. You sat in your seat with your knees huddled to your chest. A little while later, Mando put the ship on auto-pilot. He turned his seat around so he could face you. "Y/n..." he started as your head perked up. "Why did you...well, you know, do that?"

You looked at him silently.

"I just wanna know if I did something-" he started.

"It's me," you cut off. "All I do is mess everything up and I'm worthless and-"

"Y/n, what are you talking about?" he chuckled, shaking his head. "You've saved me from stormtroopers about a million times." You were about to open your mouth to speak but he continued. "A-and that one time you dropped in right when I was about to get shot and you beat them all to bits," he started. "I could go on."

You just stared at him.

"Look, Y/n, the point is..." he hesitated. He slowly took his helmet off and you quickly covered your eyes. "It's okay, you can look," he whispered softly. You slowly opened your eyes and looked at his face. You always thought of him as your father and he was more than enough for you. "I love you Y/n," he muttered hugging you tightly.

"Thanks, Dad," you said in a hushed tone. You immediately covered your mouth as he pulled out of the hug, realizing what you said.

"What?" he asked with teary eyes.

"I'm s-sorry" you apologized "It just slipped-"

"It's okay sweetheart," he said kissing your forehead.

You cringed at the word "sweetheart."

"Want me to come up with something else?" he chuckled.

You nodded your head quickly.

"How about puppy?" He chuckled, putting his helmet back on.

I nodded softly in response.

"Well, we better get going, puppy," he said, getting back in his seat and taking it off of auto-pilot.

You smiled softly.
