Your head shot up.
You had just woken up from your nightmare.
You had the same nightmare every single night.
When Billy died.
Billy was your older and favorite step-sibling, which is saying a lot, cause you hated all your step-sisters, and you had 21 step-brothers.
Fresh, salty tears were streaming down your face.
You wiped away your tears.
It was 2 a.m., and you knew damn well that you weren't getting back to sleep, not even with a miracle.
You got dressed into your black, sorta baggy jeans, and a black, oversized hoodie.
You didn't bother changing into anything nicer.
It's just school.
By the time school came, you were still a mess.
You had red puffy bags under your eyes, you practically fell asleep walking through the halls, and your hair was always in a messy bun (If u have short hair, its just messy, cuz...you can't put it in a bun).
You almost dozed off, walking through the halls, when Eddie, your best friend, pat you on the back.
You shot awake and looked at him, alarmed and tense.
"Seriously, Y/n/n, you need to tell me what's going on," Eddie said, as you both continued walking, looking at you concerned, "You've been like this for months."
"Just not sleeping that great, it's nothing," you said, faking a smile.
"Whatever you say," he said, sarcastically, "I'll see you at lunch."
"OK, see ya," you waved to ham as he walked through the door of his class.
It took absolutely forever for lunch to arrive.
In between two of your classes, Jason shoved you into the janitor's closet and gave you a nice beating.
He avoided the face, though, cause he knew someone would notice.
You were pretty sure he broke a few of your ribs.
You usually sped through school like Quicksilver, but just till lunch felt like a whole semester.
You met Eddie at your lunch table.
Everyone was there, as usual.
You sat next to Eddie, as usual.
But you didn't feel like eating, which wasn't usual.
Eddie noticed you not eating and just fiddling with your hoodie drawstrings.
"You gonna eat, Y/n/n?" He asked.
"I...had a big breakfast," you lied, "I'm not really hungry."
Eddie exchanged nervous glances with everyone, which you noticed.
"I'm fine, really, Eddie," you told him, "You don't need to worry about me."
"That's it," he sighed, knowing you're lying, not being able to put up with your shit anymore, "You're stayin' at my house tonight, and we're gonna watch a bunch of horror movies and we're gonna do whatever shit you want to, but you are staying at my place."
"Fine," you groaned with a smile.
"A smile," he gasped dramatically, "I haven't seen one of those for weeks."
You tried to stop laughing, as it made your ribs hurt.
Eddie noticed you wrapping your arms around your ribcage, trying to make the pain stop.
