Alice rubbed comforting circles on her friend's back as she wept into her rainbow bedsheets. Yoko had eaten garlic bread on accident, therefore, kicking her out of the annual Poe cup. Of course, Enid was devastated and had run into their shared dorm, as Alice would lovingly put it, a hot mess.

She had been waiting on Wednesday as she snooped around Xavier's room. Her job was to cover for the ravenete if anybody came looking for her but now it was clear her job was to help her friend find someone to substitute for an out-of-commission Yoko.

Much to her relief about two minutes later Wednesday burst through the door with an angered yet determined glint in Her normally hollow pupils. Enid immediately stood up in a frenzy, running to the girl.

"Where have you been? I'm literally having a heart attack right now. Yoko's in the infirmary!" she cried, tears smearing her makeup.

Wednesday made brief eye contact with Alice nodding before looking back to a distraught enid. "What happened?"

"Garlic bread incident at dinner. She had a major allergic reaction. She's out of the Poe Cup. I don't have a co-pilot." Enid paced back and forth.

"It wasn't an accident. Bianca's behind it."

Alice nodded in agreement. "Exactly what I thought. She sabotages every year it seemed like something she would do. Poor Yoko I feel bad."

Wednesday looked back to Alice with a raised eyebrow. "And why aren't you filling the role?"

Alice rubbed the back of her neck as she let a nervous chuckle slip through her plump lips.
"Heh about that...I can't swim, like at all I'm a sinker, and considering the poe cup is free for all most peoples boats get sunk so I'd prefer to not drown if need be." The girl explained to Wednesday.

Wednesday shook her head "No matter. Enid and I are going to take her down tomorrow"

Enid looked like someone just gave her a lifetime of free squishmellos. "Wait. You're joining the Black Cats?" She stepped closer to Wednesday, her puppy dog eyes burning into the girl's skull.
"You're willing to do that? For me?"

The fierce look Wednesday cast at the two other girls made the butterflies in Alice's stomach start a frenzy.

"I want to humiliate Bianca so badly that the bitter taste of defeat burns in her throat." she seethed out, determination laced in her husky yet clear voice.

Enid deadpanned.
"Yeah, but mostly you're doing it because we're friends, right?" She questioned. Wednesday said nothing making a sharp turn away from her.

"Tell me how she keeps winning."

"That's her way of saying yes enid"

"It's a real brain cramp. The past two years, no other boat has made it across and back without sinking."
