Joe's POV:October 9th, 2021
McKenna was going to be here any moment, I had been sitting in my car for the past hour waiting for a text from her, telling me that she has landed. I could not wait to see her, my girl.
McKenna's POV:
My plane had just landed in Cincinnati and I was so beyond excited to see Joe, my boy.
Just landed, see you soon! <3
I scrambled to grab my items when the plane came to a halt. I put my backpack on my back and got off that plane as swiftly as possible. When I got into the airport, I went straight to the bathroom and checked my phone.
I can't wait, sunshine <3
My heart fluttered, I looked in the mirror and pulled my hood over my head. I made myself look slightly more presentable and then found my way to the main lobby of the airport where I knew I would find my Prince Charming. I walked and looked around for Joey once I exited security. It took me less than a second to find him, he was holding a small sign that read 'Sunshine'. He was wearing a black hoodie and grey sweats along with his black shoes, his hood was also pulled over his head and his eyes were covered by his sunglasses, he looked so handsome. I smiled brightly and ran over to him, he smiled back and lifted me into his arms to which I responded by wrapping my legs tightly around his waist. "Oh my girl," He whispered.
I smiled, "I missed you so much,"
"I missed you so much too,"
I nuzzled my head into the crook between his shoulder and his neck. His hands tightened around me and I felt us moving but I didn't even bother to look, I just wanted to stay in his grasp and never let go, ever. I felt a cold breeze hit my skin and I shivered, I looked up and Joe looked at me, "What?" I questioned.
"You're just so beautiful,"
I blushed and looked away, "Thanks, Joey. You're so handsome too,"
He smiled and set me down gently, he grabbed my bag from me and opened the car door. I sat down and enjoyed the car ride with my honey, our fingers laced together giving me comfort. I love Cincinnati, way more than I could ever love LA and certainly more than Firebaugh. "Are you hungry?"
I shrugged, "A little bit, what're you thinking?"
"I was thinking of ordering something small for lunch,"
I shook my head, "Don't bother, I'll make us something when we get home," I watched Joe's face light up and I drew my eyebrows together, "What?"
"You called my house, home." His smile grew and my heart pounded when I realized what I had said.
"Well, I do feel rather safe and at home when I'm with you here,"
He kissed my hand and his smile returned, "I'm glad to hear that," My face burned and butterflies erupted in my stomach, I smiled to myself and enjoyed the last few minutes before we arrived at Joe's house. Joe got my door and led me inside, he brought me back to my room and on the walk back I was hoping he'd bring me into his room, sleeping with him was something I really enjoyed even if it wasn't in a sexual way. Joey makes me feel so at peace. I walked into the guest room and my mouth gapped slightly. On my bed was another pair of pajamas, a ton of blankets, my favorite snacks, some beauty essentials, and fuzzy socks. "What do you think-"
Before Joe could finish his sentence, I wrapped him tightly in a hug and actually knocked him slightly off balance from how quickly I grabbed onto him making us both laugh lightly. "Thank you, you didn't have to do that,"
