Wassup guysssssssss, I was reading through my chapters and realised one of them said the mum only just figured out they had found Eddie when she had driven him to the hospital lmaoooo just ignore that. Anyways enjoy the chapter.
I led Eddie out of the hospital and down to the car, making sure to go reasonably slowly. I heard Eddie wince slightly every minute or two but we eventually made it down to the vehicle without any harm done. I helped Eddie into the back of the car before hopping into the passenger seat so he would have space.
"Hi Eddie!" my mother smiled. "The nurses said that someone would have to keep an eye on you, is your uncle home by any chance?"
"Oh, he's outta town at the moment," Eddie said shyly.
"In that case, you'll have to stay in our guest room if that's alright?"
"That sounds good. You guys are kinda my only choice. Apart from Hellfire, but they think I'm still missing. And honestly would probably pass out if I showed up on their doorstep with bandages covering half of my body."
Mum and I laughed slightly.
The drive home was silent with the quiet hum of the radio in the background. We had to stop by Eddie's so he could grab some clothes and his guitar, because as I could understand, not having your guitar for a long period of time can make you desperate.
"Here, I'll help you carry your stuff inside" I said as Eddie got out of the car.
"Yes please." he smiled
I carried Eddie's bag and guitar upstairs to the guest bedroom and went into the lounge. Eddie was sat in my dads armchair with a cup of water.
My mum and dad had turned the Tv on and the news was playing.
Hawkins High teacher says he sees a foreign human like creature with 'no face' in the woods.
A blurred photo came onto the screen
This is all the evidence that we have on the unknown creature, authorities are saying not to worry and it's most likely a wild animal.
"That" Eddie said.
We all turned towards Eddie, puzzled looks on our faces.
"That was the thing that attacked me" Eddie looked frightened and had watery eyes.
"Are you sure honey?" my mum asked.
Eddie nodded
My dad had a concerned look on his face as tears slowly started to fall down Eddie's face. I ran over and wrapped my arms around him gently as he sobbed into my shirt.
"Come on. You look tired, I'll take you to bed" I mumbled into his ear quietly.
It was still only early afternoon, but Eddie must be exhausted even though we hadn't done much today.
Eddie nodded and I helped him up.
"I'm gonna take Eddie up to his room to rest" I said.
My parents nodded and Eddie and I slowly walked up the stairs.
"I'm sorry" Eddie sobbed,
"No, it's not your fault, that thing can't get you here."
We made it to the room and Eddie and I sat down on the bed. Eddie had calmed more now, and his tears had stopped trickling down his face.
"How are you feeling?" I asked as I caressed his back softly.
"Better thanks, just a little sore" Eddie responded.
I stood up from the bed as he lay down.
"Do you need anything before you sleep?" I said.
"A glass of water would be nice, I think I left mine by that armchair downstairs."
I nodded and made my way downstairs,
"Do you think Eddie is alright?" I heard my dad ask.
"Did he look alright? He looked insane, no way a make believe animal did that to him. Hopefully he doesn't bring any stupid diseases into our household."
"Give him a break honey, he's been through some stuff, I'm sure the hospital wouldn't discharge him if he was unwell."
"I guess" mum grumbled.
I frowned and stomped back upstairs, what the hell?! I recomposed myself before entering Eddie's room again.
"Here Eds" I smiled,
"Thanks Y/n" Eddie said gratefully
"Have a good sleep" I said, leaving the room quickly. I climbed out my window and onto the roof to stargaze and calm down.
What the heck was my mum thinking?!!
