Abby's POV:

I closed my door behind me and headed to the second floor to my father's office. I took the entire third floor, and prepared it for Skye's arrival. I first saw her in the woods a month ago. I had shifted and was on my morning run. I had decided to skip training that morning and go for a longer run than usual. Little did I know, I was about to see my mate.

Flashback to a month ago;

"I'm going for a longer run this morning. Cover for me." I told my friends through our mind-link. "Come one, you know I can't lie." Ben complained. Ben is like my brother. His parents were killed by some rogues so my mother took him in as one of her own. "Just keep your damn mouth shut. I'll do the talking." Jess said, shutting him up. Jessica is my best friend. I can always count on her. She is tough as shit, but deep down in side, and I mean really fucking deep, she can be a little soft. And she is a great warrior, that's why when I'm Alpha, she'll be my Beta. Ben will be my Delta, he has the brain for things like that.

As I took off running faster, an intoxicating scent stopped me in my tracks. Not intoxicating as in a terrible smell, but intoxicating as in, I needed whatever it is. "Mate...find her." my wolf demanded. And I did. Following the scent, I started to hear singing. The voice was so enchanting and it lured me in even more. I finally found her, she was the one singing. She has long dirty blonde hair with bangs, and was kinda short. Shorter than me, I like that. She had her hands over a bird that was lying motionless on the ground. While she was singing with her hands over the bird, a bright but faint light was glowing from her hands. When she finished singing the light disappeared before she opened her eyes. For a quick second, her eyes were bright gold, almost glowing. She removed her hands from the bird and it got up and flew away.

"What did I just witness that girl..my mate..do?" I questioned myself. She smelled like a human, but from what I just saw...she clearly wasn't just human. She's much more than that. What is she? I decided to follow where her scent trail came from, while staying out of sight. I didn't want her to get lost on her way back from where she came from. I knew that she'd feel drawn to me in a way, so she'd unknowingly follow me. We finally came to the edge of the woods where there was an apartment building. "Does she live here?" I asked myself. The girl walked up to the building and entered it. "Well that answers my question." I'm sure training is almost over by now, and I need to get back. "Stay with mate," my wolf pleaded. "We can't. We have to get back before I get my ass beat,"I said, turning back into the woods. I looked back at the building one more time, and saw her looking out a window on the top floor. Staring into the woods. "I'll come back tonight."

I made it back home before training ended. I shifted back to my human form and put my clothes back on. Then I walked over to the rest of the warriors and spotted Jess beating Ben's ass. "Next time you should tell me how long you're gonna take." I laughed at Jessica's comment. But I had to tell her what I saw and who I found. I walked right up to her standing between her and Ben. "I found her."

"Found who?"

"My mate," I said, trying to contain my excitement.

Back to the present;

I didn't know when I'd be able to bring Skye home, but I wanted to be prepared to share a space with my mate. So I took up the entire third floor. I opened the door to my father's office to him sitting going through a stack of papers. That's one thing that I'm not looking forward to when becoming Alpha. All the damn papers I'll have to go through. "So, tell me about your not so human mate," Dad said, looking up at me. "Well, I don't know much. I just know what I've seen," I said, taking a seat across from him. "And Mom, should be in this conversation too. So I don't have to explain it more than I have to," As if she heard her name, she walked right in. "I'm here." So she did hear her name.
