Skye's POV:

When we made it back to the house, Abby brought my suitcase upstairs and I joined Lucas, Angel, Jessica and Ben in the living room. I sank into the couch enjoying its comfort as my legs started to relax from the walking. "How was the walk?" Angel asked, laughing at my now relaxed body. "You know, I thought my body would get used to long walks, as I walked everyday, but I guess not," I replied, chuckling.

"So how do you feel about kids?" Lucas asked randomly. "Um..I love kids. Why?"

"Dad, why are you asking her about kids?" Abby questioned him. She joined us on the couch, pulling me close to her side. "If she's up for it, I'd like for her to meet the pack. Everyone is eager to see her. So I was asking her about kids, because if she wants, you guys can go to the schools today."

"Well, shouldn't keep them waiting," Although I was smiling, I was nervous. I wasn't really sure how others would react to me. You know, me being part human and part Demi-Goddess. Abby noticing this, she started rubbing up and down my back. Angel was watching our interaction and realized my slight discomfort. "How about this, I'll make you a sandwich for lunch, and I'll go to the schools with you and Abby. And then tonight, we'll host a dinner with the adults so you can have a break in between," Angel said, trying to also ease my nerves. "Sounds good," I replied. Something about her motherly presence just seemed to calm you down. You couldn't even stay mad or sad when she's around. Like it was her mission to make you happy.

"Okay, Jessica and Ben, could you two let the schools know to prepare for the girls arrival?"

"On it sir!" Ben shouted, playfully standing up and placing his hand to his head. "Let's go dumbass," Jessica got up laughing. Angel had already made her way to the kitchen. As I went to stand up and follow Abby to the kitchen, "Skye, could I have a word with you for a moment?" Lucas quickly asked. Shocked at the sudden request, I replied, "Yeah sure." Abby shot him a questioning look, heading to sit back down. "I'd like a word with her alone please," he had a kind smile on his face, showing that he meant no harm. Huffing, Abby left the living room leaving me with her father.

"I just wanted to say that I'm really happy to have you in our family. At first I wasn't sure why Abby was so persistent on saving you that night. Then I saw the look she had on her face as she brought you home. Although you haven't been here long, you've already made her life 1,000 times better." The kind smile Lucas had was growing bigger with each sentence. The fact that I have this much of an impact on her life, makes me feel loved. "She was really struggling before you came. She had gone through a hard break up, and her ex was just ruining any happiness she had left in her. Abby was starting to become a different person. But with the power of mates, you brought back my old daughter. The daughter I knew, the daughter who is filled with love, energy and light. And for that, I thank you." His eyes were now tearing up a bit. I never thought I'd see an Alpha cry, never thought I'd see any Alpha or werewolves, but here we are.

"Stop it, you're gonna make me cry," I said, hugging him. "And I promise to heal every wound that Abby's ex had inflicted on her," I said a little mad that someone hurt Abby like that. "Speaking of her ex...um you might run into her at the high school today. I don't know how things would go if she tries anything, so I felt the need to tell you," he said with a hint of worry in his tone.

"She better not try anything-"

"Honey, come eat your sandwich. It'll give your ears a break from Lucas," Angel quickly said. It was as if she heard what was said, and wanted to stop that conversation. Pushing my slight anger to the side, I got up and ate the delicious sandwich that Angel kindly made for me.

"Do you want to change before we go?" Abby asked, grabbing my arm. I'm kinda feeling myself in the light blue crop top and light jeans. "No, I'm feeling pretty in these clothes right now," I said with a smirk on my face. "You are very pretty baby," Abby purred as she took my empty plate to the sink. "The elementary school is all set for our arrival, so let's get going," Angel said with a smile on her face. She was once again watching the interaction between Abby and I.
