Skye's POV:

Tonight some other packs are coming here for a bbq. I haven't met them yet, and I wonder how it's going to go. Are they going to be welcoming like my pack has been, or are they going to see me as a weak point for the pack, or maybe even a threat to others. Who knows. "They're gonna love you, stop worrying mi amor," Abby put her arm around my shoulders. "I know," I turned to her, cuddling into her front. "Are you drinking with me tonight Skye?" Ben asked, bringing the coolers out of his trunk. "Not tonight," I chuckled. "You're no fun," I just rolled my eyes. Normally I wouldn't turn down a drink, but something told me that I needed to be sober tonight.

It was a nice night out tonight. There was a light summer breeze, not too much humidity. It's the type of weather that reminds you of your childhood in the summer. There's even that summer smell in the air. I walked over to Abby and Lucas who were busy at the grills. "Smells great guys," I said, hugging Abby from behind. "We may not cook in a kitchen, but we will kill it with a grill," Lucas smiled. I looked up from the grill, and over to the pups playing at the playground. Watching the kids have fun, along with some adults, just filled me with joy. Abby noticed my smile and kissed me on the head.

"You two gonna give me grandpups one day?" Lucas questioned, realizing where my gaze was at. "Dad!" Abby slapped his shoulder. "One day, I'd love to make you a grandfather," I said smiling. Abby looked at me surprised, then smiled. Then I caught some new scents in the air, I paused for a moment, confused. "I think the other packs are here," I said, turning to face the road. "You think so? I don't smell them," Lucas was now sniffing the air. "No she's right, they've been spotted on the road. They'll be here in another 20 minutes," Abby confirmed. "How could you smell them from here?" Lucas quizzed. I just shrugged my shoulders.

Soon the food was done and the other packs had arrived. We had invited three other packs, two are our neighbors, and one is like family, I guess. Angel came from the playground to greet our guest with us. " Alpha Casey," Abby hugged her. She was 5'2, tan, brown eyes and shoulder length wavy black hair. "Alpha Hannah," Abby shook her hand. Hannah was 5'9, beautiful dark skin, I swear her skin was glowing, hazel eyes and long braided hair pulled into a ponytail. "And Alpha Josh," She shook her hand, then returning to me, wrapping her arm around my waist. Josh was 6'1, buff, short brown hair and brown eyes.

"You guys already know my parents. And this is Skye my mate, and future Luna," Abby said, smiling down at me and pulling me closer to her. "Babe, Casey is The Emerald Pack's Alpha, Hannah is The Calico Pack's Alpha and Josh is The Crimson Pack's Alpha," Abby explained. "So this is the famous Skye I've heard so much about," Josh said, shaking my hand. "Famous?" I questioned. "Yes, you're quite famous due to Goddess Veronica being your mother," He explained. "Oh right, makes sense," I chuckled. "Well the food is ready, and the pups are getting hangry. Shall we eat?" Angel motioned everyone towards the picnic tables.

The food was surprisingly delicious. Not that I doubted Abby's and Lucas's cooking skills, but I've never seen those two make anything. So I was a little unsure at first. Everyone was having a good time. I looked over to the other tables and saw all the packs interacting with each other. The pups are still running around, having the time of their lives. A familiar face caught my eye. It was Owen. The cute little boy I met at the elementary school. I watched him struggle to keep his long dirty blonde hair out of his face. "Owen!" I called, waving him over. "Yeah?" He said breathlessly. "Do you want me to help keep your hair out of your face?" I asked. "Yes please!" Owen shouted.

"Okay, come here little man," I patted my lap.

He sat on my lap and I gently combed his hair into a low loose ponytail. I used a hair tie that was on my wrist. "There you go. Is that better?" I asked, patting his back. "Ya! Thank you so much!" Owen hugged me tight. I couldn't help but smile as I hugged him back. I'd love to have a son like Owen, or even Owen as my son. "Okay, go play little man," I said, removing him from my lap. Without a second thought, he left. "Aw, you gave him a nickname," Abby awed, pulling my attention back to the table.
