Skye's POV:

It was the morning after Abby became the new Alpha. I went down to the kitchen for some water, and stepped onto the front porch to watch the sky change as the sun rose. I always loved watching the sunrise, I mean who doesn't. It's a calming thing to watch. Although I'm doing something that calms me, I couldn't help but feel like something bad is about to happen. Something I've learned over the years is to never doubt my intuition. And when my gut says that something is about to happen...it will. And I have a feeling that this time, it's about Jake. He's been laying low for a bit now, but I think he's about to come out of the shadows. Do something that'll put me into fight or flight mode.

"Why are you up this early?" Angel was smiling at me, leaning on the door frame. "Just decided to not sleep in today. And I wanted to watch the sunrise," I said smiling. "It is a pretty thing to watch." Angel sat on the bench with me. "I've always loved watching the sunrise, ever since I was a baby. My dad used to say that the sunrise was the only thing that'd keep me calm while he was trying to give me my morning bottle," I started, staring at the sky. Angel was watching me intently. "As I got older, I had to drag him out of bed to watch the sunrise with me. I wasn't allowed outside alone, but that didn't stop me from doing what I wanted. He'd sit on the back porch with me, reading his book while I was staring at the sky. That was our morning routine...until it wasn't"

I almost started crying. I miss my dad so much. He was such an amazing father, and not only was he a great father, but he was the type of man to give you the shirt off his back. Even if it was the only shirt he had. Maybe that's why my mother had fallen for him. "Your father sounds like a great man," Angel said, pulling me out of my thoughts before I actually started crying. "Now I'm not gifted the way you are, but I know he's still around watching over you. In fact, he's with us right now, watching the sunrise. And he is so proud of you right now. Proud of the beautiful, strong, and stubborn women you've become."

"I'm not stubborn," I dragged on, trying to keep a straight face. "Oh honey, anyone who tells you 'no' is in for it" She laughed, elbowing me. "Okay...maybe I'm just a little stubborn," I laughed along with her. "Something tells me that there's more on your mind than just your father. Do you want to talk about it?" You couldn't hide anything from this woman. Even if you tried, Angel would find out eventually. "My intuition is telling me that something bad is about to happen. And I never second guess my intuition," I sighed. "So what is your intuition saying this time?" Angel questioned. I looked back at the sky. "Jake has been in the shadows for too long, and he's about to come out. He's going to do something that'll put me into fight or flight mode. It's going to put everyone into fight or flight mode. And I feel bad that this all has to happen when Abby became Alpha."

"Whatever that man has planned, I promise he won't succeed. The Blood Moon Pack stands strong, and we protect our own till the very end. That being said, you are now one of us, protected until the end," Angel said, hugging me. Her words actually made me feel much better. "Thank you," I hugged her back. "Now changing the subject to happier topics, I was hoping you'd help me with something."

"And what do you need my help with?" Angel questioned. "I've been told that Abby doesn't like surprises but-"

"I'm in!" Angel interrupted excitingly. We both laughed as we came up with a plan.

A little while later;

I was busy over the stove, making sausage, bacon, eggs, french toast and preparing fruit for breakfast. Well, not Abby and I's breakfast, I have something else planned for that. "Do you know where my wife went?" Lucas asked tiredly walking into the kitchen. "Yup. she's busy helping me with something, so I'm cooking breakfast today," I smiled. "Oh no, what are you two up to now?"
