Ryan made a home of the underground train station, she would do anything to get away from her mother. In a way, she liked living with Derek Hale. He was quiet and they never really had to interact with each other unless it had something to do with the pack. Ryan Bender was happy for the first time in a very long time.
"Are we gonna train some more," the blonde beta asked.
"When Isaac comes back," Derek replied.
"Well when the hell is he coming back?"
"Dunno he still lives with his dad."
"Why did you let him go back? You know what he does," Ryan asked.
"It was his choice! And if you're so worried about him, you go find him," Derek yelled back, annoyed at the girl.
"I will, I'll be back... soon," Ryan responded and went up the stairs of the abandoned train station.
☹
Ryan decided that she would visit Isaac's house, hoping to convince him to live with her and Derek. She moved quietly towards his house, hoping not to catch anyone's attention. She climbed up onto the Lahey's roof, sat down, and listened to the conversation between Isaac and his dad.
"So far it's an A in French and a B in Econ," Isaac said to his father calmly.
"That's good, what's Chemistry," Mr. Lahey asked.
"T-the grade," Isaac stuttered and Ryan knew why. Sure she didn't go to Chemistry a lot, but when she did, she knew that he struggled. Only because Harris mentioned it every chance he got.
"Well it can change, you know I have finals coming up, so it could get better," Isaac tried, but his dad only wanted to know the grade.
"Just tell me the grade Isaac," his dad said sternly.
"It can still go up-"
"Isaac just tell me the damn grade!"
"It's a D," Isaac said softly, hoping his dad wouldn't hear. But, of course, he did. Ryan could smell the fear from Isaac, and it took everything in her not to go in the house and rip Mr. Lahey's throat out.
"Well, a D is a D," Mr. Lahey said," but you do know it is my duty to punish you."
Ryan knew that it was going to go downhill fast.
"You can start by, uh, doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen. That sounds like a reasonable punishment."
There was silence, and then Ryan heard glass shatter. She quickly made her way to the window and watched what was about to go down. Mr. Lahey had thrown a glass at Isaac and it had cut him just below his eye.
