Chapter 10

Chad P.O.V

It's been three days since I've gotten to hear my mates voice, look into her crystal blue eyes. My heart was ached for my mate, the pain was unbearable. I had to trust that zoo people knew what they were doing, and that they were able to help her. Don't get me wrong they treated me right, gave me food, water, hell I let them pet me, just so i could be sane. Lost in thought, I heard the boots of the younger male, he came to my holding pen, smiling. I wagged my tail happy to have some company. He patted my head telling me something I've wanted to hear for forever. "Shes gonna be ok boy, shes a trooper." I spun in circles with happiness , all the weight was lifted off my shoulders. Just then I heard the lady walk out. What she had in her arms made me the happiest wolf in the world. In her arms, was my Sophia. She looked weak, hurt, and just to many words to describe. I looked at both of them with sad eyes, the keepers must have noticed, the male, who I have a bond with talked to me "Hey, calm down buddy she's ok, she's just going to be sleeping for a bit." I whined in response as the zoo lady laid her down beside me. I automatically nuzzled my neck into hers carefully, engulfing her scent of roses and vanilla. I started drifting off to sleep, knowing that my mate was going to be ok. That night was the best sleep I had gotten in three days

Sophia P.O.V (Dream)

Chad and I were running in a meadow with our pups, we had just escaped from the zoo, now we were able to run free, and be wolves. As a mother I was glad my pups got to grow up like this. I'm glad they could enjoy the fresh air, playing with bumblebees along with pouncing on flowers. Everything was great. I did miss my family more than anything. But for my mate and my pups I stayed with them. "Oh look at the happy family." I turned around to see Zerrick, the wolf I hated. I went to jump on him, but it was too late, he grabbed my pups and ran.

(End of dream)

I wake up to Chad laying down beside me eyes full of worry "Sophia are you ok? Please tell me your ok!" "Chad I'm fine, just a dream." When I got up the pain coming from my neck was horrible, I whimpered while Chad told me Id be fine and to get some sleep. I don't remember what happened, but somehow I managed to mess myself up bad. I snuggled into Chad, smelling his forest scent, falling back asleep knowing Id be ok.

Luke P.O.V

I felt horrible, as a brother I should have been there to help her. If she hates me after she wakes up I don't blame her. I couldn't even protect Gemma, or my sister, who has been gone for 3 days sticking up for my own mate, almost lost her life. My mother was mess, and my father was beyond mad. They both wanted to know were there little girl was, if she was alive, if she was ever able to bear pups. Just then a mind link from none other than Chad himself *Sophia is fine,she has surgery and is sleeping, shes breathing fine . Shes going to be ok!"

All the wolves started howling throughout the enclosure, people looking at as like we where crazy. But never in a million years would they understand how important it was that Sophia was ok. I look over, my mother in happy tears, my father with a smile on his face, and Gemma's face didn't have the look of guilt. For the first time in 2-3 days, I was glad she had a mate like Chad. I just cant wait to tackle her when she comes back. I mind linked her even though she might not be able to get it *I love you little sis, stay strong, we miss you!* I went to find Gemma to get some sleep, I found her, laid down beside her, getting the best sleep not just me, but everyone has gotten in the past 3 days.
