Zerrick P.O.V
The fact that the pups where taking forever to dig out this hole was making me a little bit pissed off. I needed to get out of here, go back to Sophia. I saw one of the little pups Drew playing with a bug.
"Hey pup!" I yelled at him, seeing him jump
"Y-yes Zerri-rick?" He stuttered while he talked to me. Good he should be scared
"Why isn't the hole done yet? I thought I told you I wanted done by tomorrow night!" I raised my voice, giving the pup a death glare.
"I-im sorry Zerrick. I'll go get the other pups and s-start working on it." He said looking down
"Good you better." I gave him a death stare again chuckling as he ran off to his pup friends.
I walked around this new enclosure, still not used to it. The noises aren't as bad I'll give it that but not being near Sophia made me mad. Although I'm not her mate there's a lot of things she doesn't know about me. She will never know that I'm her brother that's a first. She'll never know that i found my mate, but rejected her because I simply just don't want one. With all these thoughts surrounding my head I heard the zookeepers yell out that it was lunch time.
Chad P.O.V
Its been a week since Sophia was released from the holding pen. Since then I've been doing a little better, still having nightmares, and only eating every once and a while. Laying down on our rock I felt my eyes getting heavy, after trying to fight it I just let my sleepiness take over.
*Dream*
It was a beautiful day outside, Sophia and I were still in the zoo. It was fine with me, but Sophia not so much. She wanted to get out of there, to be a wolf again. It didn't take a genius to know that you just automatically knew. The way she looked outside the fence, getting lost in thought, or the way she would run around, even howl. I felt bad for my mate, I was trying everything that I could to get out of here. I would just have to wait a little longer.
"Hey handsome." I hear my mates voice call out behind me
"Hello beautiful, what are you up too?" I question her, knowing the answer already but wanted to know if she was thinking about something different.
"What kind of question is that Chad? Every time you ask that question its always the same thing." She said frustrated.
"I'm sorry bu-." I was interrupted by a howling of a wolf, looking around I saw Zerrick. He was going around killing every single wolf, until his eyes locked on my Sophia. He charged for her, killing her right in front of my eyes.
*End*
I wake up with a jolt, panting, looking around, making sure that everyone was alive. I had to remind myself that it was a dream, but lately I've been having dreams about Zerrick coming back. I don't know if its a sign, or if its just because my head can't get him out of my head. I sit up, sighing as I did. Looking around seeing Sophia playing with the pups. She was so beautiful, she would make a great mother when the time comes. I run up to her.
"Having fun?" I ask her smiling. She giggled looking at me with her piercing blue eyes.
"Yes, a lot, I never thought that playing with the pups would be this fun!" Looking at me with a look of love, happiness.
"Well I'm glad your having fun." I say back to her.
"Come on Chad, wanna play with us?" She asked me, looking down at the pups who were smiling. I sighed to myself.
"Sure why not? It wouldn't hurt would it?" I said chuckling.
We ran around the enclosure, jumping over the elders, and even messing with the teenagers laughing at their facial expressions while we messed with them. I looked over at the zookeepers who had a look of worry and fear on their faces. Being nosy I decided to eavesdrop on the conversation.
"What do you mean he's gone?!" The female said.
"He got out under the fence, there was a hole dug." The male said back to her.
"Were talking about the wolf that attacked the white one, and most likely would have attacked the black and white one as well and your calm about it?!" She screeched loud enough for the whole pack to hear.
Everyone stopped what they were doing, looking at one another with worry, but mostly looking at Sophia who fell down in her spot and started to sob. I ran over to her comforting her. I walked over to our rock letting out a howl getting everyone's attention.
"IF HE MAKES IT BACK HERE WE WILL FIGHT UNDERSTOOD?!" I screamed mostly with anger, and sadness. All the wolves looked at each other and howled in approval. All at once I didn't even know I'd become alpha that moment. But I didn't care about that.
Come on Zerrick. Were waiting for you.
I'm sorry for the wait everyone! With me being a sophomore now all the school work, homework, etc.. is getting to be a lot. Even in band, now that im the president (yes im a band geek) there's a lot that I've been doing.
