Sophia P.O.V

Since the pack had heard word that Zerrick had escaped I've been scared to even get up and walk around the enclosure. Any little noise made me jump, I was scared, I was scared for my own life. But on the other hand I am the Luna to the pack since somehow Chad has become Alpha. I know that I can depend on my pack members to protect me, but I still want to be able to fend for myself, rather than feel weak and pathetic. I heard footsteps behind me, automatically I dropped down to the ground whimpering.

"Sophia, its okay, its just me." I open my eyes meeting my brothers worried ones. "This whole thing has you terrified huh?" I got back up looking looking out towards the woods.

"Just a little bit, I mean he attacked me once, what makes you think he won't do it again, I could be dead any minute, for all I know he could take me during the night, there's so many possibilities." I looked down at my paws, tears gathering in the bottom of my eyes.

"Soph, as your big brother I'm not going to let him do anything to you, he's not going to get here anytime soon, and plus, everyone is ready to fight when he gets here. You have nothing to worry about." He nuzzled my neck, getting up he whispered "You'll be okay." But in reality I knew that everything wasn't going to be okay.

Zerrick P.O.V 

 I had been walking for three days since I've managed to escaped that zoo, where ever it was, my main goal was getting back to the zoo I belonged to, the zoo with Sophia in it. Honestly, I don't know what it is about her, I may be here brother but by blood I'm not, so if I wanted to I could have her carry my pups. But I wouldn't do that, Luke would kill me. M y ears perk up as I hear people talking, children laughing, and other wolves yipping at each other. Smelling the air I picked up the scent I've been looking for since the minute I escaped. Well, looks like I should make a surprise visit.

Chad P.O.V

 I was sleeping when i felt someone nudge my side, groaning I turn around to see Luke, extreme worry in his eyes. 

"Luke whats wrong, I can see it your eyes." I saw him take a deep breath before starting.

"It's Sophia, she's terrified Chad, I went up behind her and she dropped to the ground and whimpered like a pup, I told her everything was okay, but knowing Soph she's probably thinking the worst."  He said all of this in one breath.

"Were is she?" Was the only thing that came out of my mouth. 

"She's by your rock." 

I ran off, seeing my mates snow white fur. I felt bad for Sophia, she had nightmares every night, she barely eats, all in all shes more than terrified. Getting closer I could hear her crying. It pained me to see her like this, Sophia was always smiling, playing with the pups or talking to Gemma. Now all she does is cries, watching around her if she hears a little noise. I get to Sophia, making my way slowly so she can get my scent before she freaks out. When she turns her head to face me, her once blue eyes were a dull grey, her face wet from tears. Getting up she ran into me, her face in my chest.

"Chad, I'm so scared, I don't know what to do, I'm scared that he's going to find me and take me away. I'm scared that he's going to take you away from me. There's so many things he can do to hurt me, to hurt you." She sobbed into my chest.

"Sophia listen to me." I pull up her head with my snout. "If he gets here, he's not going to get what he wants, I'm not going to let him take you away from me. Your my whole world, and if he even thinks that he's getting you then he'll have to go through me first. Trust me Soph, I can take him, I have something to fight for. I have you, that's what I'm fighting for." I finish, looking into her eyes, and for the first time in a month she smiles. 

"I love you Chad." Her voice rings through my ears. It had been a while since I heard that too.

"I love you too Soph." I chuckled. Then I heard a voice I'd had hoped I would never hear again.

"Sorry to ruin the moment there Chad. You know I'm kinda disjointedness there isn't a welcome home party for me." Zerrick chuckled. I glared at him.

"Well Zerrick that's because your not very welcome here, and this isn't your home." I howled in anger, watching my pack members come running, Luke taking Sophia somewhere safe. I lunged at Zerrick sinking my teeth into his flesh.
