20- Erwin Smith, 57th Expedition Beyond The Walls Part Four

"An aberrant?" Eren asks as he looks back at the titan that's now trapped thanks to Erwin, Hange and the rest of the soldiers in charge of the operation, "or is it like the Colossal titan? Did Commander Erwin-".

"Hey, snap out of it!" Oluo shouts as he looks at Eren.

"Eren, think later" Petra says as she looks at Eren, "we need to get farther in and standby!".

"Right!" Eren says as he looks straight ahead.

Erwin, Levi and Evelyn stand together as Evelyn and Levi draw their swords.

"Wait, you two" Erwin says as he doesn't take his eyes off of the titan, "an eye for an eye. Waves two and three fire! Fire the spare rounds!".

More arrows connected to metal rods are fired as they pierce the titan's flesh. Meanwhile, the surrounding teams in the trees hear the sound of the arrows being let off as they watch the titans below.

"Um, it's climbing up!" Krista says as she looks down at the titan that looks up at another woman across from Krista on a different tree.

"So it is" the woman says calmly, "if it gets this far, I'll move out of the way. But I don't think it will be for long. They issue the withdrawal orders soon".

"Does that have something to do with the explosions we've been hearing from deep in the forest?" Krista asks as she looks at the woman.

"I don't know" the woman says as she shrugs.

"Mikasa, what do you think that sound is?" Sasha asks as she leans against the tree, "are they firing canons in the forest?".

It didn't seem like they'd brought canons, though.

Reiner tells himself.

"It's getting really loud back there" Ymir says as she shuts her eyes, "hey Bertolt. Do you know where Krista went?".

"Sorry, I don't know" he says as he wipes his sweat from his brow.

I have no idea what's going on. What am I doing and why? I want to go home.

Conny tells himself as he looks up at the sky.

"We're going to shift position, Armin" Jean says as he looks at Armin.

"Okay" Armin says as he and Jean jump off of their trees.

"They've started to figure it out" Jean says as the two of them land on a branch further away from the titan that was climbing up towards where they originally were, "they seem to be getting better and better at climbing".

"That means, scary as it sounds, they're learning" Armin explains as he looks at Jean, "although some are better than others, I'm sure".

"Armin. It sounds like something is going on deeper in the forest" Jean says as he keeps his eyes on the titan, "I think I have some idea what. They lured that Female titan all the way in here in order to capture it. More precisely, to capture whoever's inside of it. That was Commander Erwin's goal".

The squad make it further away as they get off of their horses and they tether them to the trees.

"That was Commander Erwin's goal from the start" Eren says as he thinks it over in his head, "right? I can see why he wouldn't have wanted to tell the new troops. But why wouldn't he tell you when you've all be with the Survey Corps for so long?".

"Shut up!" Oluo says as Eren looks at him.

"Are you saying that our Captain's and the Commander don't trust us?" Petra asks from behind Eren.
