The next day they took me to get a cat.
It was a sweet gesture, something that was supposed to be a happy memory of mine.
If I had known how it was going to end...

"Just do it!" the black haired man said and pushed me in "It's the tradition for every new family member to go this way alone!" I was so surprised by the push that I just went with it and as I stood stiff as I almost landed face forward in the... chest of the lady standing in front of me as I managed to catch myself last second and as the door closed behind me, it was to late. She already noticed me. Now there was no turning back.

"Oh, finally! I've been waiting for you all day darling! You said you wanted to adopt a kitten?" A woman in her forties stood in a blue flower dress in front of me and even tough she was shorter then me I would have never dared to say no. She was pretty, that was out question, but her aged face showed welcoming, as well the ability to make you pay if you wouldn't buy one of her precious cats. "Y-Yes Ma'am! May I see them?" She smiled "Sure Sweetheart, just follow me. They're right over in this room." the woman said calm and she waved at me to follow her as she lend me into a green painted room. "Hello my babies! See who I got there! A guest!"

Twelve curious eyes stared at me as the woman stepped aside "If you want to you can have some time with them before you decide. That is absolutely no problem." Only for a split of a second the she had to wait for my answer "No need, uh... I'll take that one!", I answered with a voice higher then usual and pointed at a white cat sitting as the only one not in the bed but in a cabinet drawer. Wrinkles appeared on the woman face as she turned around to me "Are you sure? Don't you think you need time before making such an important decision? A cat can change your whole life, you know?"

Now my voice really sounded like I inhaled to much helium "N-no! I-uh... felt an instant bound to him, it was as if our souls connected!" The woman raised her eyebrows "If you think so. Also "He" is a she. Just for you to know young man." she said as she went to pick up the white cat that and went to get the paperwork "Her name is Terracotta."

Much paperwork later I stepped with a cat carrier, the white cat named Terracotta and way to much cat food out of the store, happy to finally have escaped my first real social interaction since years beside Touya and Toshi. Outside my new stepdad was already waiting for me "And? How did it go?" he asked and I smiled as happy as I could "Beautiful. Just beautiful. I really love uh... Terrifying cotton?"

A few hours later I was home and we gave the cat a new habitat. Even tough the name "Terrifying cotton" was an accident we kept it as Shota couldn't stop laughing every time someone said the name out loud and we stopped by a pet store to buy her a bed and a few toys. Eri had instantly loved our new family member and begged for a friend for her that she could name but Hizoshi declined saying Terrifying cotton was a "welcome to the family" gift to me. As it got pretty loud when Eri continued to beg, I went up to m room, carrying terrifying cotton with me.

I read a book about UA that Shota got me as the white cat next to me begun to hiss. I thought she just wanted more attention and raised my hand to pet her, but she scratched it and I sighed as I looked up to check what was wrong.

I let out a surprised yelp as I saw a purple looking thing form in the air in front of me and put down the book to investigate further when I remember the attack in the valley. I saw compleatly the same purple thing in front of me in the air, only seconds before my best friend and also maybe boyfriend got kidnapped. I got into a fighting position waiting for a hand or something to come out of the portal and was about to yell for Shota and Hizashi to come and back me up, when a hand covered my mouth from behind.

I was wrong. The kidnappers where not about to get into my room. They already where in.
