Mei's PoV

My alarm went off and I groaned. Ever since Lizzy left I have been sleeping in her room. I don't mind because her bed is quite comfortable.
I stuck my hand under my pillow so I could have a harder surface to lay my head on.
My hand was stopped by something that I accidentally rammed my hand into. I felt it for a minute and finally pulled it out.
I was half asleep, I was sore. Turning over to where I look at the ceiling I saw I was holding an envelope.
The envelope was a smooth creamy white. I opened it to find a letter.
A letter from Hitsu.
"Dear Mei,
Your safe as long as your with me. Don't worry about certain individuals trying to inflict harm onto you. Your my precious doll."
I held it in my arms and hugged it tight. I got up and smoothed the wrinkles from my gown. With the note still in my hand, I opened the drawer with my uniform in it.
I undressed out of my nightgown and slipped on my uniform. When I walked into the living room I saw it was abandoned.
I decided to leave early. Skipping breakfeast won't hurt me.
An idea sunk into my head. What if I go shopping and get Hitsu's present right before school. Not bad.
I have thirty minutes, but so Hitsu won't worry about me I'll leave a letter on his door.
"Going Shopping.
Mei."
I slipped my shoes on and slowly opened the door. The door set off a little creak.
*at the small antique store down a few houses*
I entered and a wiff of dust blew into my face. I knew Hitsu had a liking to older things, not the new high tech ones.
There were dresses that were a lot like the ones Elizabeth wore. Pretty and ruffled. I was searching when I heard the bell ring at the door.
The bell that rings only when someone opens the door.
There I saw Lulu. Lulu was the beautiful and shy girl in our class. Even if she ignores me now, we were best friends before she was selected. When she was unselected she was traumatized.
"Oh, Mei. It's been a while." Lulu whispered.
"Yes." I replied with a reassuring smile.
We chatted looking around but I stopped and saw something.
It was a pin.
The small circle pin had the words "your the best" on it. It may be crummy and stupid but who cares.
I snatched the pin and grabbed Lulu's hand. I sped over to the counter and threw all my savings on the counter.
We walked out at a slower pace. Just ten minutes until school starts. Plenty of time.
~Ciel PoV at school before Mei gets there~
I was right at the door and I rested my hand upon the door handle. Just when I was about to open it, I heard a voice. I took my hands off and listened.
"Look, it's all a mistake. Everyone voted Mei not Hitsu. I was suppose tp told them to vote for the next new one but I forgot to tell them!" The familiar voice shouted that matched Sensai's.
"Yes, yes, but as you know Mei was the reason of your child's death." It was the nurse.
"I couldn't believe she would "accidentally " push me down the stairs." Sensai argued.
"You told them the day before, while Mei was there, to vote her to be ignored"
"Well we will get our revenge! Maybe Mei might be affected by the curse!" Sensai cheered.
"Not with Hitsu always around her."
I stumbled backwards and grabbed my heart. Mei could be dead, being affected by the curse right now.
No.
No.
I caught my breath and ran out the school stumbling and tripping over my own feet. I had no clue where Mei could be. I took turns and turns, corner through corner.
I can't believe I just let her leave and not care.
I was in an everlasting maze. It felt as if I had been searching 10 years yet it was only 5 minutes.
Then I saw her.
Was it really her? Was it an illusion?
Yes it was Mei! Alas! I took a moment to breathe.
I saw Lulu right beside her them two laughing and having small talk. They were all the way on the opposite side of the street as me.
With relief, I looked up at the deep blue sky.
An airplane was just up ahead soaring gracefully.
No. Wait. This was different. The plane was in flames hurdling down towards Mei and Lulu's direction.
"MEI RUN!!!" I screamed.
The seconds I had to spare I knew I couldn't survive this being a mortal.
"Sebastian."
I saw Mei disappear. Sebastian got her in milliseconds. The plane was directly in front of me.
It felt like slow motion, my knees went numb. I couldn't move.
I passed out on the spot. Something that was a mistake.
~Woke up~
I woke up and yawned. I felt my pillow that was not as rough as it was the last time I slept. The blankets much cozier.
It felt normal laying down with my eyes closed, sleeping.
Mei
Hearing her name, I woke up and I shot up like a bullet. I looked about not recognizing the room. No I do recognize it.
I'm back home.
Why am I back here? Where is Mei? Why did we leave?

Sorry for the long update! We are getting close to the end. Sadness. But we will be writing another book after this. A yaoi! It's going to be Gerita or another ship.
