THE STEL STORIES Part 2: The Fall of Beacon

Chapter 1 - A New Journey Begins

Trillium Frost hated waking early.
We had tried everything to help him adapt, ranging from earlier bedtimes, coffee as soon as he woke, or even the Ice bucket drop on his head (Something Scarlet had regretted suggesting a few seconds after dropping it on the one person who controls Ice and Water).
So we resorted to allowing him to be sleepy and grumpy every morning during training.
Scarlet and I were so adjusted and use to waking early that it was almost a natural thing to be up at Dawn.
Eclipse had the freaky ability to wake and sleep on command, something drilled into him in his early life.
Never less, Trillium used this grumpiness to learn how to control his new semblance skills.
All of us had been learning, adapting, and evolving these last three months since we went on that Black Ops mission.
Scarlet had learned he could now adjust and control the heat and shape of his flames, allowing all sorts of new moves and skills for him to command.
Trillium now realized that he could not just manipulate the shape and flow of water but shift its form and mass, ranging from water to ice and possibly from water to steam and mist.
Eclipse on the other hand could now shift, move and combine his dust skills, changing the form of dust to a crystal layer like armor over his skin or moving it along the ground like a living trail.
Though all these skills required a load of concentration making them hard to use and manage.
I had felt left out for the most part.
My semblance was a tough one to adapt and manage.
Each extra effort felt a step closer to losing control, so plenty of training was required.
However hard work has paid off, I can now use two enhancements at once when paired right and have added a tonne of smaller skills to them.
My Strength and Speed buffs had been my main, but lessons with Scarlet and the actual Professors at the school opened my mind to new ideas.
Soon I could enhance my senses (A orange energy glow for that) such as sight, hearing, smell, and taste.
The day we learned that Scarlet and I got in so much trouble for messing with food in the mess hall.
We had made so many random dishes without permission for my semblance to test.
I was sick as a dog the next day.
I also realized I could enhance the energy I produced with my semblance, almost like a lightning power that I could project and release from my body, though it heavily drained me of energy and I barely used it.
So I mainly stuck to training to use my Strength and Speed as one.
It was doable but very draining and required full focus to not lose control.
But training and practice were one of my favorite things to do. Classes usually had me brain-dead or tired. Until a fateful history class came with some interesting news.

I was in class with Trillium, the two of us learning the stories of the great war between the four main kingdoms, Vale, Mantle, Atlas, and Vacuo.
Professor Oobleck was rapidly fitting 10 years' worth of information in a 30 Minute lecture and was finally reaching the end part.
"And so", he said adjusting his large round glasses, "With the great Treaty between the four kingdoms a tradition was put in place, a time for each kingdom to compete and display its strength in a tournament of combat, this is known as the Vytal Festival".
"Sir", Trillium said his hand in the air, "Does this tournament still take place today?"
"Why yes it does Mr. Frost", answered Oobleck "In fact in a few month's time, Beacon will be hosting the Vytal Festival with the help of Atlas"
Every student perked up at that.
"So you're telling me we get to fight other students?" asked Pinkus from the front of the class, him and Kale were both in this class with us.
"That is correct, Teams will compete against other Huntsman in training to show the value of our schools and academies" Oobleck answered.
As we left that class shortly after, Trillium and I met up with Scarlet and Eclipse in the mess hall to tell them the news of this event.
"This sounds epic," Eclipse said grinning widely "I can't wait to beat some uptight Atlas punks and show them who's boss"
"Your forgetting I'm from Atlas" Trillium asked a small smile on his face.
"Yeah but you're only partially a prick," Eclipse said with a tilt of his head.
Scarlet and I quietly hid our laughter while Trillium glared at the brute who had insulted him without realizing it.
"Well, you know what that means," Scarlet said before Trillium could destroy Eclipse.
"More Training?" I asked, excited at the idea.
"You bet!" Scarlet said with a grin matching my own, "Cause if anyone is gonna win that tournament it's us!"
We all agreed with that raising our water glasses in a salute.

"Not if we beat you guys first"

We turned to see a tall golden hair girl grinning at us, she was strongly built with a brown jacket, white and yellow crop top and cargo shorts, and a pair of brown combat boots to match. Her bright purple eyes were bright as she gave us all a cocky grin.
It was Yang, Ruby Rose's sister.
Eclipse stood up and said, "Is that a challenge I hear?"
Yang turned her gaze to him and grinned cockily at him before saying, "A challenge for you but not for me"
Eclipse grinned right back at her, "Oh don't worry I will make it challenging for you thats for sure"
The two stared each other down grinning challenges at each other.
"This tension is getting uncomfortable" Scarlet whispered to me.
"No kidding" I replied, "But I kinda wanna see where this goes".
"Me too," a small whisper said behind us.
We both jumped as Ruby Rose, had appeared right behind us.
"Are you trying to give us a heart attack!" Scarlet said face already changing to a bright red. She laughed and stood up. "Hiya Scarlet, I thought we would come over and finally meet as a team!" she said and motioned back to Yang.
Standing next to her now were two other girls.
One wore a white and pale blue vest and skirt with red linings(Combat Dress I later found out it was called) and white boots with edged heels. Her snow-white hair was tied in a ponytail that reached her hips. She wore a small tiara on her head and carried what look like a customized rapier at her hip. A long thin scar ran vertically down her left eye.
"Hello my name is Weiss Schnee," she said very formally stepping forward and offering Scarlet a hand, "I do apologize for Yang's rude interruption of your meal"
"Nah it's fine," Scarlet said shaking her hand, as he did I notice Trillium staring at Weiss with surprise.
"A Schnee at Beacon? I thought you would be at Atlas" Trillium said with an edge in his voice.
"I could say the same for a son of the Frost family," Weiss said whipping around to stare down Trillium, the same edge in her voice.
"Well unlike the Schnee's we are inclusive of all places especially Mantle" Trillium countered, tensions rising high.
Weiss went to snap a reply but the other girl stepped forward to introduce herself.
"Blake Belladonna, nice to meet you all," she said quietly.
She was slightly shorter than Yang, she wore a black and white vest with coattails, a white crop shirt underneath, and white shorts to match. Black and purple gradient stockings reached down to her black combat boots. A large black bow sat atop her long black hair, which ran down her back, covering the short sword and sheath.
Her yellow feline-like eyes stared into each of us finally locking onto my own.
Belladonna, why did I recognize that name?
"Nice to meet you," I said offering my hand.
She left it hanging and asked, "You are Lumen Shadow yes?". I nodded, still offering my hand, pulling it back awkwardly when I realized she wasn't going to take it.
She looked me up and down quickly before shaking her head and storming away.
"Hey wait where are you going?" Yang called as she followed her out of the hall.
"Well, have a nice day," Weiss said abruptly as well and took off after her two other teammates.
The rest of us stood there in silence trying to process what just happened. "I am so sorry!" Ruby said to Scarlet, "I have no clue why they are all acting that way!".
"It's fine," Scarlet said yet again. Ruby then bid us goodbye and ran back the way her team went.
"So that was fun!" Eclipse said and this time we all glared at him.
