Listen, you're in a ship most of the time, and you being sick doesn't usually change that. She he does the best he can—he loads you up with pillows and blankets, Rocket and Groot steal some medicine, and he thinks that what you have isn't contagious, so he doesn't take many precautions (it is, the rest of the crew gets sick).

He's always called you kid/kiddo, and that's what he still calls you now.
