"WHERE IS HE?"
"Mr. England! Slow down!"
"No! This is unacceptable, Belgium!"
Ms. Belgium was rushing beside me as we rushed to meet Germany... that damned idiot. He was violating treaties left and right, and for what? It was as if he were trying to get everyone involved in this stupid war. It was bad enough that he has already been provoking Francis. Now, Belgium has come to me because he is asking to invade through her. It doesn't help that she has told him 'no' many times.
"What will you tell him?"
"I'm going to tell him what is true! His invasion will violate multiple treaties...I will be forced to..." I paused at what I was about to say. I had stopped moving, and she looked at me, shocked. "You will go to war? For France?" She asked. I felt sick to my stomach as I looked her in the eyes. I knew it wasn't really about my feelings toward him or anything, but he was an ally, and so was she, and this was getting out of hand.
"I will do what I must," I spoke. She nodded at me slowly, and I looked around. He was here...Germany...he called for a meeting, and I needed to be the mediator between him and Belgium. No one else would....they were afraid of war. "Come now, we must stay level-headed; we can't let him get to France by all means," I demanded. She nodded in agreement and rushed beside each other.
As we continued walking down the hallway, we could see many people standing outside the room. I was glad Francis wasn't here, even if I wish he were, so he could tell me what to do. I usually wouldn't go to that idiot for advice, but right now...I needed it...I needed his help figuring out what I should do.
"Is he in there?" Belgium asked. Everyone stopped talking and looked at us in relief. They were only humans...they were even more afraid than we were. "Mr. England! He is alone...in there..." one of the advisors spoke. I nodded in response, and Belgium and I looked at each other. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you will be fine," I spoke. She nodded at me, worried, and I gestured for the people to move out of our way. They did so quickly with no hesitation.
I was first to open the door, having Belgium follow behind me. The room was cold and dim, and the aura felt horrible and threatening. I could sense that despite any of my possible efforts, this would not go the way it should, or rather, the way I wanted.
"Mr. Germany...we are here to talk about Belgium's neutrality treaty...I hope you understand that if you choose to invade France through her, it will violate her treaty..." I spoke. The young nation had been looking away from us as we came in, looking out the window. He had his military uniform on and began tracing circles along the windowsill with his index finger.
"You are here to mediate? Correct?" He asked.
"Yes, find a solution..." I spoke.
If he invaded France, I'd have to increase aid to him.
"Tell me, England... would your mind change if I told you I wouldn't mind you joining me? I will guarantee that your long-time enemy pays for the centuries of damage. Imagine? France being part of your commonwealth... does that not sound delightful?" He spoke, turning to look at us. Belgium and I recoiled at what he said and watched in horror as he looked at us with a smile.
"What? No! France is my ally now, and doing so would mean I'm declaring war against him. I will not be doing that. I discourage this behavior and urge you not to invade France through Belgium!" I demanded. I could tell Belgium looked at him in horror, hearing what he wanted.
"Well... I am afraid that won't be any good," he added. He began walking closer toward us, and it caused her and me to back up. "And why is that?" I asked. The aura this kid was giving off was absolutely horrid. It made me wonder if I ever gave off this aura toward France. I knew he had given it off when fighting against everyone, but now, this felt scarier. Scarier than I had experienced with anyone else.
"Because...it is a scrap of paper..." he spoke calmly. My eyes widened, and I heard how Belgium gasped in horror. "You would violate international law?" She asked. He looked at her with hate and nodded. "I will do more than violate a silly paper...for as we speak, I have started the invasion of Belgium! I will invade both you and France by force if I have to."
"What? How could you—"
"Belgium! You need to leave now!" I demanded. He had started getting closer to her, and I quickly stepped between. "What about you—"
I watched in horror as Germany began to reach for his gun. I pushed her back toward the door hoping she'd get the hint. "I will find you later! Get everyone out of here!" I demanded. Her eyes widened upon seeing the gun, and she quickly turned around to make a run for it. "I, at this moment, declare war on Belgium," Germany announced.
Thinking as fast as I could, I used my arm to push him back, and the gun shot upward, causing him to miss. He looked at me angrily, and I rushed to get my gun out. "You idiot!" he yelled. I watched as Belgium left the room, yelling for everyone to leave. "You can't attack her; she is neutral!" I told. He pushed me away from him, and I was ready to shoot. "My issues aren't with you; they are with her!" he shouted.
Germany was about to walk away from me and chase after her. However, what he said was the only thing going on in my mind. He was right; the war is not with me. I could stay quiet and let this escalate, or I could...
I could....do something.
"In that case!" I shouted, grabbing onto his leg to stop him from leaving the room. "I formally declare war on Germany! and our war begins now!" I demanded. He stopped trying to leave and looked at me, shocked. "You would go to war? for Belgium and France?" he asked.
Crap, would I?
"YES! NOW YOU MUST FIGHT ME IF YOU WANT TO GET TO HER AND FRANCE!" I added.
"Your silly effort is too late...as we speak...the invasion of Belgium for France has already begun," he spoke. Something in his words meant something horrific had been happening. This meeting...was mostly likely a way to distract Belgium and me. Whatever had happened was too late to fix.
